Excellent picture quality

Light, easy to use, great picture quality and SD cards for recording so no moving tapes or disks.

Sound is not in the same league as the excellent picture quality just average for a camcorder. You need a seriously powerful computer to edit video recorded in HD mode, minimum 2.8Ghz Intel duo core processor and preferably faster.

Bad points! Well... Canon could have used the standard hot-shoe rather than bespoke, there are limited and expensive attachments for this. Mini HDMI is ok, but when are manufacturers going to include this cable? Any sort of bag or protective cover should...
