This unit if very lighweight, easy to shoot pics with one hand, menu is pretty straight forward for someone who just wants to make videos with great quality.. Downloading stills is a breeze, comes with almost every cable needed.

Battery sits kind of loose on camera. The delay if saying if in record mode is little troublesome, found took lot of video upside down since was carrying the camera in my hand. The biggest con for me so far is capturing video from the tape, driver not ver...

I have made 2 short movies using the Canon XL1s. In my opinion, the image quality with this (in just SD mode) blows it away. Of course, the HD mode leaves it in the dust.

Shooting in 24p is a little jittery, movements are blurred. But I'm still playing with the settings.
