Owners Opinion: Canon PowerShot SD500 (Corto, 16 Mar 05)

Excellent camera and will be my replacement for the S45 I own. It is much faster in shooting and focusing, and the image quality is excellent.

I was excited about having a camera that can do 640x480 at 30fps, but at least in mine, I've got a pretty noticeable high pitched whine in the audio that is recorded. The video quality is excellent, the audio leaves a lot to be desired. However, since thi...

I bought the SD300 two weeks after it came out...bought this SD500 the day BEFORE it came out. Phenominal camera, excellent photos, flawless construction, sturdy and beautiful body. The My Colors feature is like having Photoshop built-in. Video seems even...

Only problem I have encountered (reason I gave a 4.5 in image quality) is a slight problem with some noise at ISO 400 when printing 8.5X11's ; Cons ; Limited adjustment of some manual functions like F-stop and shutterspeed...but hey its smaller than most...

this camera is surely unworthy of Canon brand, I love Canon, but not this camera, everything was bad

The flash would never pop-up and the shutter button would get stuck

Well constructed, attractive camera with 7.5/10 photo quality, but also a camera with some flaws. For this kind of money it had better work well!

Purple fringing can be quite substantial in some situations, but, the major problem i have had is with the audio in the movie mode! There is a high pitch whining, static (almost like a kettle boiling) sound that is recorded. On playback this sound is very...

I have just taken delivery of one of the earliest SD500(Digital IXY600) in this part of the world. It is fabulous. Image quality and size(7MP) and convenience, speed of response are truly impressive. The video quality is excellent and the camera so easy t...

Instruction Manual in Japanese is a bit limiting to an illiterate in Asian languages - I bought from a Parallel Importing firm. - I have been assured by the Suppliers that an English version is to be mailed to me.
