worth the money

By sweetha

I have purchased this camera after possessing a sony cybershot, we found this one so much better, with many features, especially i loved the kids and pets , face detection, single shot which helped me to take nice pictures of my baby

its a bit difficult to get accustomed to the new features and buttons

This Camera's a Thrill

By Ladyb5

Before I bought this camera I read all the reviews that I could find. I had almost decided on the Canon A590 until I came across the SD880 IS. I own a previous elfh (SD600) and still love it but wanted to upgrade to a newer model. I have the Nikon D40 als...

OK, but disappointing picture quality

By Simon1

Overall, this is a fairly good camera. However, having owned several generations of Canon A and SD series cameras, this one just doesn't seem to compare for picture quality. For casual pictures, this may still be right for you, but not for those who striv...

Responsive controls, bright and clear screen, physical switch for camera/scene-mode/video, very good video for a ultra-compact

Pictures quality just not up to typical Canon standards. I have the SD700 from two generations ago (and others) and the new SD880 pictures are simply not as sharp and clear. Particularly in typical indoor settings, they disappoint

Great package of features

By Kraut

Wonderful camera - excellent build construction (made in Japan), easy to use interface / controls, great picture quality in a tidy compact package

Excellent 3" LCD display

Would like to be able to "force-flash" in automatic mode (need to go to manual mode to do this)

Really Ultra-Compact & Good Function

By IronMonkey9

if the movie in mov format, should include full version of quick time!

sharp, compact, easy to use, turn it on and just shoot, and after that good result. very simple

only complaint is movie in mov format, other than that very happy with it

Good, not great

By PhotoJeff

Perhaps I really have gotten too spoiled with a dSLR (Canon Rebel), but the quality just didn't live up to my expectations. Don't get me wrong, the images look great if you're just viewing them on your computer screen, but I can't imagine ever wanting to...

This camera has a lot of fun features for the casual photographer, and at least some ability to override the program modes for creativity. Focus is captured rather quickly even in the dark when used with the AF assist light. And for being a secondary func...

All the rave reviews led me to believe that the image quality would be the best among the point & ; shoots. However, in high contrast situations the fringing (color separation at the edge of the lens) is just awful. And I don't know if it's the sensor...

Wide Angle, Canon, IS - what can you ask for

By Molardaddy

Good successor to 870 IS which I think is still rated as one of the best by many.

Wide Angle. Powershots from canon take excellent pictures. Nice big LCD. Has image stabilization. This was my 3rd powershot

Battery life could be a little better
