I wish the optical zoom was greater (10x?), at this price tag it should come with at least a 1gb from Canon, video quality could be better, the included strap is awful, and the barreling is annoying sometimes.

The camera takes amazing photos and I will keep it with me at all times (even when I carry my SLR). You will not go wrong with this camera.

Beaware: The bonus case offered in the xombo is too small and does not fit the camera - and newegg customer service told me the bonus items are not always compatible with the product. How disappointing. Now I need to buy another case after all.

This is a serious camera. If you're looking for the usual run of the mill P&S, look elsewhere. I'd suggest this one for the hobby photographer who doesn't want to lug around a bulky DSLR body and a variety of lenses.

A miserable dearth of "pack-ins", Canon only gives you the bare essentials. Noise becomes apparent at higher ISO's, yet this is true of most all consumer grade digital cameras.

Not a DSLR replacement???? I've heard this a couple of time, and am really not sure there is such a thing as a DSLR replacement. I think this is about as close to one as you could get though. Warning, not for people who don't want to control their camera....

Overall, the camera is an excellent and takes great pictures. I would recommend it for a point and shoot, but not as an SLR substitute.

Excellent picture quality for Raw and ISO less than 400. Wide selection of manual and automatic settings. Decent zoom range, but could use a little more. Overall it is great as a point-and-shoot camera.

ISO settings greater than 400 and pictures are very jagged. Flash charging is very slow. Expensive adapters needed for wider optical zoom range and replacement batteries are still expensive.

Good pictures, useful features and controls, understandable interface.

Control dial is not comfortable enough, it could be much better if it was under the shutter button.
