Great starter camera if you are thinking of getting a DSLR or purchasing one for someone else. This camera has enough features and plenty of quality to keep someone happy for along time before needing to upgrade.
This camera snaps great shots, and has a nice clean look to it. There are tons of settings to learn and quite a bit of buttons, but its still great for a new photographer. I bought this for my fiance for her birthday and she absolutely loves it. It takes...
I havn't found any yet.

When NewEgg (Maverick) figured out I didn't get the Bag and SD Disk, they took car of it right away. Wish they would have checked to make sure the camera fit in the bag. Thanks anyway NewEgg, Great service!
This is my 3rd Canon camera. The first was a Powershot A50, and the second was a Canon G6.
Didn't get my Free Bag and SD Disk. Did an Online Chat with Maverick at Newegg. He said they were sorry and sent it out 2 day FedEX. I received the bag and disk today (Monday). As I saw in a post below, the Bag is too small for the camera. The Body will f...

Typical newegg service... ordered on Wednesday and rec'd on Friday. I'm happy with the purchase overall, although it was a little cheaper when I ordered it.
Great pictures right out of the box. Very low noise in High ISO images, unlike other DSLR's in same price range. JUst being a hobby photographer, one 4gb card is enough for me and one battery will also suffice... you can fit a ton of pics on one card and...
Not really a con of the camera... but the Dolica case that Newegg threw in for free is a joke... you CANNOT fit the camera AND the lens in together. It's miniature, or something. It sure looked decent in the pictures. But what the hey it was free.

Good feel, light weight , for standard pics its just point and click. Great stuff
Only con -owners manuel is a little overwhemling, but once I get to the next level of Photography I will not feel that way

Read the manual and do research lenses. Newegg has a great deal for this camera, take advantage of it.
I been using the Rebel XS for a little while and I can't complain, eventually getting more lenses will give me more flexibility but, since I am amateur at dSLRs I still recommend this camera very highly.

This camera is easy to use. It is a very good camera for beginners and medium skill users. The picture quality is crisp
The camera will not let you use the LCD screen in all modes, but I guess that is to be expected from a DSLR.

Depending on the price, the XS might be the best absolute camera bargain I've ever seen in years. For me it was $199 cheaper than the XSi when I got it. Yet, you're a semi-pro or can afford it, get the Canon XSi for the extra $150-200. Finally, the proces...
The Rebel XS is a superb beginner D-SLR that takes excellent pictures and gets most everything right. It's a great blend of last year's XTi and this year's XSi, with few premium features removed (7 point focus instead of 9) and some added (live-view and s...
The XS has the latest DIGIC III processor, though not the 14 bit output in the XSi, and this results in a very good but not stellar picture. The lens in this kit is really pretty good and even marginally better than the Nikon D60. The Canon is also more f...

Many functions but easy to use. This is a great camera for beginner photographers or Experts. It costs less but performs the same as the more expensive models.
none so far.

Newegg provided the best price, a memory card and a case, not to mention fast and free shipping. Couldn't ask for more.
Great camera once you get all of the functions down. We upgraded and are beginners at this photography thing...loving it so far. Great for pics of the kids and family. Pretty user friendly.
Probably a good idea to get a tripod, case, large memory card, etc. No external screen to see what you're shooting which can be challenging, but I've adapted to this.

Could be just this particular camera, but having this kind of experience with my first one, I am reluctant to purchase another canon product in the future
when it works, it takes quality pictures
This camera has been back twice for repairs. I got it back yesterday and it has failed again after taking 5 or 6 pictures. I am very frustrated and disappointed with canon. I have always relied on video to record events and decided to go with a quality ca...
