If Canon keeps delivering products like this to the market at competitive rate, Nikon needs to keep a good look out over their shoulders.
Very straight forward operation of all features making it use to use for novice and experienced photographers alike. Buttons / dials fall easily to hand and are ratioanlly placed. Excellent value for the money.
Canon does not do a great job with the supplemental documentation related software provided with the camera. However, anyone who has used Adobe Photoshop or other similar software should have no problems getting going.

I bought the body only as I already have an XT and lenses. The extra mp's are nice, but the Digic III circuitry and anti dust software are icing on the cake.
Great image quality, exellent in-camera sensor cleaning system, HUGE lcd, easy to master controls, small, light, decent price.
No in-camera image stabilization, live view is not as usable as could be, ISO could go higher, that's about it.

They could have extended the View finder so your face is not directly against the camera, smudging the LCD.

this is a great camera with many features and for the price, it is well worth it.
light (compared to other SLR's). many feactures, live view, battery life, IS kit lens,
live view focusing quite slow, even though the neck strap is supposed to be better than previous versions i still find it chafes my neck... call this criticism what you want... i'm just noting it down.

If you've never owned a Canon Digital camera you should give it a shot.
Fast picture speed and excellent picures.
I think a little pricey but you pay for quality.

If you're serious about getting into photography, there is no real substitute.
Very accurate contrast detection (auto focus) AF method. A decently fast photo processing, Live View (upgraded feature from their pro-line, and an expanded spot metering (also upgraded), in addition to higher resolution, larger LCD screen, and updated men...
Too many features for the average photographer, but after all this is Canon's budget professional entry level camera.

I need to get more familiar with some of the settings.
I am so pleased with my camera. I took it out last weekend to take some photos and was so excited to get them downloaded. I love the details in the pictures, I love the ease of navigating the buttons and changing from different speeds and settings.
None so far.

This camera is ligh, small, packed a lot of features, quick focus and produce outstanding images. Good price.
Even this camera comes with a cheap 18-55mm kit lens, it produces very nice, sharp images. The lens has a feature that reduce viration called IS by Canon, works very well, allows users to handhold the camera from 2-3 or more stops lower than w/o it, depen...
