Finally took the plunge into DSLR'ville. Used to shoot 35mm film many moons ago, jumped on the point and shoot digital bandwagon for ease of use, but WOW.. what a difference this thing makes! For a grand I couldn't touch this same deal with Can.. course n...
Great package deal. I mean c'mon.. great camera with two vibration reduction lenses included. Was up shooting decent picks in full auto mode the first afternoon I had it. Now working in manual modes and getting great results. Included DVD's help in gettin...
All plastic feels a little cheap, but most others in this price range are made the same. Would have appreciated at least some rubber grip inlays to firmly grip camera while hands are sweaty.

After some research, some people said they weren't to happy with an upgrade, say from a D40/x, to this D60. I believe, if you have the extra money and your starting out go for the D60. I like the extra megapixels because I crop my photos a lot and I knew...
This camera was my first move to a DSLR. This camera is simply amazing (and this package at newegg!). Like the previous statement, you get two amazing lenses with this kit from newegg and they couldn't be better. I looked everywhere I could think of for a...

Great camera right out of the box. Takes great pictures and is a forgiving camera and will take some knocks and keep on working. CDs that came with camera were very useful and this camera was alot better camera than the Canon Rebel that cost 300 more.
plastic body, Wish Nikon made a skin for it

I recommend getting: 4GB card (1k+ pics) minimum. 16GB card (4700+ picts at 10MP).; USB adapter with some memory cards is extremely useful/fast; screen cover for 2.5" review screen; 2x sets of filters so you don't have to swap from lens to lens; lens care...
Bought this with the Lowepro SlingShot 300 AW Sling Bag and the OLYMPUS Stylus 850 SW as an inclement weather/video capable backup. I Have taken nearly 20,000 pictures with this since since May of this year and have which more than justifies the cost of t...
Both VR lenses make for enjoyable on-the-spot picture taking though I have found that I have to make sure I don't switch the VR and Man/Auto toggles on the lenses when i snatch the camera out of the bag for immediate shots. Auto focus got old after the fi...

Great price for what you get. The DVD's included are helpful. Hopefully they will decrease my learning curve to get used to every setting. After almost 2 weeks of ownership, there are still quite a few settings I am getting used to.
This camera takes fantastic pictures. I left the Camera in Auto mode for all of about 1 hour. After that, I started adjusting the settings and playing with it. The pictures actually improved and the quality was superb. Best Camera I have ever owned to dat...
Learning curve for a new photographer on an advanced camera is somewhat high. Only reason I didn't give it a 5. Going from a camera that does autofocus, light, zoom, and settings for you. It takes some time to get used to doing things for yourself again.

This is my first DSLR. My Coolpix L3 was insufficient for me, and I desired the shutter priority and aperature priority modes, improved image quality, and better lenses. These lenses have vibration reduction features, so even if you shake your hand you ca...
The 18-55mm lens is about the same zoom range as you would find on a point and shoot, while the 55-200mm lens lets you zoom significantly farther. In my experience, at 18mm, I get a much wider angle than my point and shoot (P&S) camera.
You must use the viewfinder instead of the screen to set up your shot. This isn't a con for me, but it may be for you. I personally prefer the viewfinder.

I wish I could stick with the Nikon, but I going to return this one for a different brand. If you don't mind a few dead pixles here or there, its a great camera. For the descriminating eye, or for the avid photographer, unfortuantely I'd say pass.
The D60 fits well in your hand, it's light, and its got great features for the budget minded, avid photographer. The autofocus is fast, and the stock lens does pretty good.
I am on the road to return my second Nikon. The first had a dead pixel right in the middle of the display. I suspect its not uncommon, but it is annoying to me. so I returned it.. but, not to Newegg, I got it somewhere else. I love Newegg and its customer...

The LCD Screen turns off when you place the camara to your eye. So I dont understand how the person that wrote they could not find out how to turn the LCD off ment
This is my first real Camara, Easy to use. I love the photos. The main reason I bought this is for low light shots and it works Great. It has so many features and it is easy to understand and use them. The LCD Screen turns off when you place the camara to...

I wanted to buy the Nikon D300 and pro lenses and I am glad I decided to wait. I researched many DSLR's. The price is right on the D-60 and the photos are wonderful.
My present to the newlyweds was to hire a photographer. Instead I bought this camera, started reading the manual 2 hours before the first picture was taken. I shot 400 photos long into the night using only the built in flash in auto mode. only a handful o...
