This D70s i purchased about 3 months ago, last week i got a D2X. So this small post is a good compare from myself, not that im a professional but i am very particular with the quality this new age of digital is giving us so tune in here goes....
Firstly let me say that KEN ROCKWELL has really helped me understand alot about his reviews, as i think it takes an amatuer (like myself - although ive been an avid photographer for over 12 years) to fully understand what each camera is like compared to t...
Continue from above: And not only that but the D70S noise at 200 even 400 isnt to bad, i mean its noticeable and no where near as clean as the D2X but VERY VERY good, the photos blew me away. The other thing is the D70S is lighter, damm well built for a p...

This is a great learning tool for beginners! That said I have a love/hate relationship with this camera. I love the light weight. I love the picture quality. I love the easy to navigate controls and etc... I love the SB800 flash and the way these two work...
Battery is no problem, as is layout, Ittl, ergonomics, picture quality.
I give this 4 stars because the viewfinder sucks, and in one day of light use outdoors I had dust in every picture. AF is N80ish.

The camera is well built with a good heft that will go well with large lenses. The controls are easy to use and thoughtfully designed. The pictures that it produces are sharp, well exposed, with beautiful colors. All pictures are well exposed with great d...

I hate digital SLR's to be honest soley because of the dust issue, and i've had Canon EOS1d-Mark 2, D70 and now D70S. I used this camera for 1 day at Taronga ZOO in Sydney AUstralia, and i swap my lens VERY VERY carefully, and it wasnt even a windy day, a...
one thing i will say though is i was using a very very cheap 70-300mm f4-5.6G lens that i got for under $200, and the photo's from this d70s were stunning !!!!!!!!!!!! i might add that i was also using a sb600 flash for the first time also!!
nothing but dust on sensor issue.

My first foray into digital after using the FE2. I use it as my main camera, which is really saying something. The instant gratification is really nice; reduced phto development costs and scanning times. Nice bulky feel, but it's pretty light. If you're u...
Excellent picture/color quality. Instant gratification.
Viewfinder is a bit small. Use an FE2/F3 for a while and use this, and man-oh-man!

I bought this camera as my first digital slr and I have been extremely happy with it. My previous digital was a Olympus C-750 ultra zoom, and I got tired of the extreme shutter lag and buffering speed, and the slow zoom. The autofocus with the Nikon D70s...
autofocus, frames per second, setup of manual controls, kit lens, features comparable to dslr's that cost three times as much!
Mandatory use of Nikon flash! I can't use my Vivitar 285hv!
