Great D-SLR

By Arianne

The D70s is well suited for beginning photo enthusiasts, hobbyists and advanced users and offers a combination of superior image quality with robust performance.

The D70s' image quality was excellent. Its exposure and autofocus system complemented each other, producing sharp, well-exposed images. The 5-point AF system is fast and accurate.

Understanding the D70s Custom Settings can be a daunting task for inexperienced photographers.

Nikon D70S

By Richard Knowles

The D70S c/w 18-70 lens is well worth the price differential over the D50 c/ 18-55 lens. If you compare with the Canon 350D then body size may be an important factor. I would have needed to buy a battery grip taking the price of the Canon over the cost of...

A very well specified digital SLR which is easy to use in terms of its functionality and user friendly layout and size. (Anyone with large hands should immediately discount the Canon 350D unless they are prepared to purchase the optional grip) ; Excellent...

The standard software is Picture Project. This is very elementary and anyone who is computer literate and wants to develop their photographic creativity will need to buy software that is more powerful. I make no reccomendations here but Adobe Photoshop El...

D70

By Mervyn Jones

An excellent camera - a must buy but be aware of limitations of accompanying Nikon software.

D70 is doing very well - I particularly like the very bright viewfinder, the fast recording of RAW files and the excellence of the imager. The lens 18-70 is really good as well. I have to say it is much much better than the D100 which I had had from new 2...

I was very niggled with the Nikon software for raw images and how it mucked up by Photoshop plug-ins. After a lot of aggravation I removed all Nikon software (Nikon View 5 for D100 and Picture Project 1.0 for D70) and things got really confused so I had t...

robust performance

By Al

The D70s is Nikon's best-selling and affordable 6.1-megapixel digital SLR. The D70s is well suited for beginning photo enthusiasts, hobbyists and advanced users and offers a combination of superior image quality with robust performance

a larger 2-inch LCD monitor, a higher capacity battery, faster image recording, improved autofocus system and the ability to attach a remote shutter release

Understanding the D70s Custom Settings can be a daunting task for inexperienced photographers. other than that i found nothing to complain about.

Great Digicam.

By Leo

The design of the Nikon D70s is great. The camera body becomes an extension of your hand. Nikon got the ergonomics right. The Canon Rebel feels like a toy, the D70 feels solid, and fits in my hands perfectly. I just love holding it. I have to agree this c...

The D70 is very easy to use. The LCD layout is familiar. The pictures are just beautiful. The JPEG-Fine images are excellent as well. The thing that will probably impress you most, if you've used any P&S digital. This camera is "light-speed" FAST.

This camera is a little big and bulky.

Affordable quality camera

By Barry

Overall, an excellent camera especially for the price. Very user friendly and great digital experience.

For its price, this Nikon is hard to beat. High performance and picture quality. Impressive continous shooting mode with a fast memory card. Solid battery life.

It does not have a USBhigh speed support. And some software and AC adaptor not included in cost.

Good Performer

By Nigel

It is a much enhanced version of its predecessor D70, very user friendly, award winning image quality and excellent performance. Except for a few glitches like a small view finder, not so sharp images at default settings and certain softqare not included...

Very user friendly. Versatile drive mode and good performance with lots of customization options. Good battery life.

Software costs extra, lowest ISO is 200 and small viewfinder
