Iriver E100 (4GB)

By JB

After owning an iriver E10, the E100 is a big let-down. The audio quality is mediocre at best, and the speakers are very tinny. Also, the repeated crashes and ludicrously slow interface make it very hard to use. The only redeeming features in my eyes are...

big screen ; expandable memory ; Extras eg. FM Radio, Line-in recording etc

Ridiculously laggy interface and constant crashes ; Ok sound quality ; Very cheap feel / build quality

Unfortunately this iriver is a BIG let down from the previous X20 models. Although the price point has considerablr dropped from the previous model, it lets the Iriver name down.

None to really think of, maybe the speakers in built are okay

The navigation of this unit is an absolute mess. To go through thr video from chapter to chapter is not easy. The playback is also a big let down. The unit feels very plastic and not very robust. Dissapointing after a model previous was SUPER.

Very reliable player that is great value for money. Had all the features I wanted that players twice the price didn't. I could have spent up on a more expensive player (price range was max 600), but decided to go with the E100. I wanted something that cou...

Very reliable so far ; Size (both physical and memory) ; Recording capabilities ; Video is a plus ; Price

Not much customisation (no big deal really) ; Scrolling through long lists can take a long time (i try to library as much as possible into very sorted folders, so a list on the player is no longer than an album track list)

They do say beauty is in the eye of the beholder... but honestly, this really is the ugly duckling of portable music players. Not only that but the player seems to mimic the look of the Zune (minus colour and squircle) and the interface has a resemblance...

Very Very Cheap (looking at it, it could be the only saving grace)

Unoriginal ; uninspiring ; bland ; small capacity
