With all of the players in the industry vying for the consumers dollar, Zalman has consistently put out a product that is near the top of the heap every time, if not THE top performer. This time is no exception.
Attractive finish. - Nice weight. - All copper (although nickel plated). - Competitively priced. - LED fan. - Very quiet on lower speeds.
Only 1 color available for LEDs; no option for no LEDs.- Very large cooler; Doesn't fit in all cases.- Heavy.
Please keep in mind that I used absolutely no case fans during this testing so if you do, and have good case airflow, you may achieve even better results. Ambient room temp was 74F or 23.33C
The last time we took a look at a cooler from Zalman it was way back in July! So it has been a while since we have seen Zalman's offerings. Today we will be taking a look at the CNPS9500 AM2 CPU Cooler which is compatible with AM2/754/939/940 AMD processo...
This is a great all around cool for the average computer user or the enthusiast. The fan mate enables you to pick the fan speed and noise level that fits your needs. If you are overclocking or doing some hardcore gaming you can turn it all the way up. If
Generally speaking, hating a piece of hardware isn't something I do. In all honesty, of all of the products I've reviewed and dealt with over the years, there are very few which raise my ire sufficiently to have the word 'hate' associated with them - Eve...
Whether you share my personal views on Intel's stock cooling solution for LGA 775 CPUs or not, there comes a time when many a user feels the need to upgrade the cooling solution for their processor, be it for overclocking, adding a little 'bling' to their...
I was having CPU cooling issues on my P4 Prescott, so I popped off the ineffective Vantec Aeroflow 2 heatsink/fan and dropped in this large badboy - had to remove my power supply to get to the mounting screws, but it went on in 5 to 10 min altogether. Als...
Lightweight, fits my P4 3ghz socket 478, dramatic difference in CPU temps
None so far; odd that it has a manual speed control, but no biggie.
I recently built a new machine: Pentium D 930 3.0GHz, 1GB PQI 533MHz, 250GB Maxtor SATA, XFX 6800XT 128MB, Intel D945GNTLR, Antec P180 case. I had serious problems cooling this chip down. I was running idle at around 145 degrees fahrenheit. I put this in
Cooling ability, looks and it's quiet.
A bit big, so make sure it fits in your case.
I use this with an Abit AN-M2 mobo and Athlon X2 3600 (Brisbane core). Coupled with the fan speed control from the BIOS, this is one of the most silent rigs I have built. I am also using Arctic Silver as the thermal paste. I had not seen a CPU idling arou...
Silent most of the time, bearable noise on full setting (with case closed)
Very large, somewhat pricy
