Internet radio, FM radio, network audio, iPod dock and bass thumping speaker - but is it trying too hard?

As I mentioned at the start, the Noxon is unusual looking especially if you remove it from the speaker base. If you do it rests at an angle on the LCD display that extends down from the front – it’s quite a strange look. It fits snugly on the speaker...

With the Terratec Noxon 2 Radio for iPod you can enjoy a plethora of internet-radio delights.

Internet Radio is a fantastic addition to any household, and the Noxon 2 Radio for iPod sits amongst the best units on the market. Its iPod control is something of a letdown though, and we think it'd be better to just act as a throughput and speaker...

Despite the potential of the Noxon to offer you an almost unlimited selection of music, it's quite expensive, especially considering the issues we had with inconsistent network connections and the questionable design.

To get the most from the hardware you'll need to get it connected to a uPnP network in the home and use the TwonkyMusic server software supplied to share media folders on your computer. Despite a few initial teething problems we eventually got this...
