Good value for the money so far

Bought the LG as a second player for the bedroom, has worked reliably for 6+ months so far. Not surprising these inexpensive players break down quicky (the entry-level Samsung has many similar complaints). Don't forget good airflow (passive cooling...

Cheap, quiet, loads relatively quickly compared to other blu-ray players I've seen. No obtrusive bright LED lights when on. DivX supported

Remote not compatible with my multi-function wands. Plays DivX, but only in standard def, not HD resolutions (need to master as AVCHD disk if you want to watch HD)

Good quality and price, but not perfect

Minus 1 egg for being and odd size and not coming with an HDMI cable.

The best thing about this unit is the price. Seems to be of very good quality for how little it costs

This thing is very wide and not very deep. It is a real odd-ball when trying to stack it with "normal" sized components. Manufactures have been making component boxes for like 50 years now, can't we settle on a standard depth and width already ; One...

DO NOT BUY

I bought this back in September 2009, it played every blueray and dvd just find. Now its been 10 months and I'd be lucky to get a blueray to play on this.

At least turns on

You need shear luck to play a dvds or bluerays. Cannot play scratched DVDs not even tiny scratched ones. Will not play newer bluerays, ERMMM Avatar

DO NOT BUY

Almost exactly 4 months after I received it, it stopped reading Blu-Ray Discs. Still reads dvd's though. Tech support told me after an hour and half of waiting to download the latest firmware from their website which is BD.8.16.059.A. With latest...

Worked great up until the 4 month mark. Now it doesn't at all

See "Other thoughts" to hear me whine. About the product itself: My kid's Fisher Price toys feel more sturdy than this. The tray that ejects is so flimsy, I feel like I"m playing operation when I put the disc in. But don't worry, that won't break it....

cheap made

use it as a trim tray than anything else cause this sucks

that it plays blue ray for 90 bucks? thats about it

regular Av jacks are sad, no HD connects or even HDMI for that matter so you are trading down big quality for a cheap piece of c**p

Great budget player

This is an excellent budget Blu-Ray disc player, and a surprisingly good DVD player. The unit is thin in height, quite short in depth, and STANDARD width, the same as all other audio/video components (I have it stacked on a Toshiba DVD Recorder and...

Small and simple to operate, easy to update firmware, excellent video quality for standard DVDs

A little slow

update firmware for Avatar

If you try to play Avatar br version without the update, you'll have to cut power to restart.

Google search on "lg bd270 update" You'll need to update the firmware to play the br version of Avatar. Follow the directions and be patient. I used the dvd media, not the usb, version of the update. There are 2 rom files, the 270 seemed to understand...

Seems a bit slow to load and start blu ray movies

LG warranty is a sham

Worked fine for 4 months ; Cheap ; Fast shipping

Stopped working right after the 90 day labor warranty expired ; The LG warranty is 90 days labor and 1 year parts. What that means is they want $70 to fix a $100 DVD player
