Excellent 1080p video playback, attractive design

Profile 1.1, limited features and connectivity, fiddly remote control

The Panasonic DMP-BD45 is a basic Blu-ray player that concentrates on doing one thing well: playing Blu-ray movies. If you want to access BD-Live content and other online features, you will need to look elsewhere.

While this Panasonic does much right, there's no denying that spending a tiny bit more will get you more bang for your hard-earned buck

Fine build and looks ; rich colours ; good detail and edge definition

Picture lacks subtlety of the best ; sounds insubstantial

A Profile 1.1 Blu-ray player that offers great picture prowess

Picture quality ; Ease of use

No BD Live support ; Discs are incredibly slow to load

A valiant attempt to deliver a Panasonic player for the masses, but we're not sure leaving out BD Live was the way to do it

Great for the price!

The bottom line is: if you don't expect to much then you won't be dissapointed. You cannot expect this player to have all the features of the higher priced models. If you just want a simple player to play blu-rays and dvds then you won't be dissapointed.
