Panasonic DMP-BDT220

The Panasonic DMP-BDT220 is a fast, full-featured Blu-ray player with a pleasantly low price.

Fast. Great video processing. Built-in Wi-Fi. Supports 3D.

Clunky remote. Menu system needs manual tweaking.

Performance and Conclusions The BDT220 is pretty speedy, averaging 24.8 seconds to load a non-BD-Live disc ( Ralph Bakshi's Wizards ), and 22.3 seconds for a BD-Live disc ( The Sound of Music 45th Anniversary Edition ).

Panasonic DMP-BDT220

The ; has built-in Wi-Fi, 3D compatibility, and the Viera Connect suite of streaming-media services, which includes Netflix, Hulu Plus, Amazon Instant, Pandora, and Vudu. The user interface for the streaming-media apps is straightforward, plus you can...

Viera Connect doesn't support any subscription music services (like MOG, Rdio, or Spotify) nor does it have Flixster for UltraViolet support. The DMP-BDT220 also doesn't play back DivX or Xvid files.

The Panasonic DMP-BDT220 is the best Blu-ray value of 2012, with built-in Wi-Fi, tons of streaming-media apps, 3D compatibility, and a simple user interface.

Panasonic DMP-BDT220 Blu-ray 3D PlayerReview

Who needs a big budget? This insanely affordable 3D-capable player packs a nice little punch.

When we review products, we try to be as objective as possible. In other words, we like to call out the good and the bad. However, I found myself really stretching to come up with "Turns Offs" for the DMP-BDT220. Is it the greatest Blu-ray 3D player...

Panasonic DMP-BDT220 Blu-ray 3D Player

It will be interesting to see where the Blu-ray player market goes in the next few years. We reached a point of diminishing returns on the newer lines of players. The Bluray spec hasn't changed since the adoption of 3D, so there's nothing new to add,...

Panasonic DMP-BDT220

3D technologies in TVs already made the splash back in 2010 and consumers are slowly adopting as the number of 3D-enabled content increases. While 3D-enabled HDTVs offer plenty of features on their own like 2D to 3D conversion and support for viewing...

The Panasonic DMP-BDT220 is a significant upgrade over the previous model but it might not be a worthy upgrade if you just need a simple Blu-ray player for enjoying 3D content. But if you haven’t purchased a 3D Blu-ray player yet, this new system...

Get Viera Connected with Panasonic's midrange Blu-ray deck, with 3D, DLNA and Wi-Fi as standard

Superb feature list ; Stunning pictures ; Intuitive, attractive operating system

Converted 3D still unconvincing ; Straight-laced design ; Skype requires expensive camera ; Some menus a little sluggish

Best Blu-ray player £100-£175, Awards 2012. A top-notch performer with great features

Brilliant detail ; impressive upscaling ; great sound ; lots of online content

Clunky remote ; some motion blur

Best Blu-ray player £100-£175, Awards 2012. The Panasonic’s ability to convey the fine detail impresses, along with its strong sonic performance.
