Canon Vixia HF10 Camcorder Review

Canon in HD - No more tape? Not for Canon's new Vixia HF10. It records directly to a built-in Flash memory. As if that weren't enough, the HF10 also offers high-definition video recording at a 1920x1080 resolution. Right away, as I pull the sleek black...

AVCHD camcorder records to Flash memory or SDHC card

The Canon HF10 ($1,099) is an ultra compact camcorder that captures HD video in the AVCHD H.264 video file format. What makes the camcorder unique is the dual storage capabilities built into the camera. It doesn't use video tape or DVD disc or a hard...

High-def video at its best

For an AVCHD removable flash memory camcorder, the HF10 is close to flawless. It offers superior video performance, better build quality and more modes and features than any of its high-def rivals. Highly recommended.

Stunning 'full HD' video resolution, improved AVCHD recording format, arresting design

No standard-definition mode, inbuilt hard drive only 16GB

Excellent video quality. Fast focus. Compact, attractive, and comfortable design.

Wind filter not as dependable as previous Canon model. Manual focus pretty useless.

Canon's first flash-based camcorder, the Canon HF10, delivers excellent HD video quality and performance in a tiny package.

Canon HF10 review

Hard drive camcorders may pack oodles of recording space but their unsightly storage bulges make for gadget disharmony. Enter the Canon HF10, which opts instead for tiny flash memory to keep its HD footage safe, coincidentally making it one of the most...

Canon HF10 review

Canon's HF10 is a high-definition camcorder with a 16GB internal flash drive, plus an SD card slot. In our testing, the HF10 shot impressive, brilliant video, up to par with its similar MiniDV counterpart, Canon's HV30. The HF10 has its flaws and it's...

Small, light an easy to use; good picture quality in well-lit and low-light conditions

Not a fully pro camcorder

easy to use straight out of the box. Fantastic image results.

built in mic is a little noisey in the wind. Battery life with included battery is a little short. The zoom switch is a little uncomfortable to use at first

Image is excellent, low light conditions are good.

Slight delay when changing between shooting / photo modes.

Canon HF10

Light, easy to use, great picture quality and SD cards for recording so no moving tapes or disks.

Sound is not in the same league as the excellent picture quality just average for a camcorder. You need a seriously powerful computer to edit video recorded in HD mode, minimum 2.8Ghz Intel duo core processor and preferably faster.
