Canon DC100 Camcorder Review

Canon doubled its DVD line recently with two new models, the DC40, and a new entry-level, the DC100. Entry level models often have a difficult time distinguishing themselves from the pack: they must be easy enough for the novice but have the solid...

Canon DC100

When it comes to the budget end of the DVD camcorder market, we're used to seeing pictures marred but all kinds of compression artifacts and inaccurat...

Better image quality than we see on many low priced DVD camcorders, a few manual controls

No USB connection, no SD card slot, still images not that hot

Above average video quality is countered by a lack of an SD card slot and poor quality stills on this DVD camcorder. A good option for the buyer on a tight budget.

Canon Digital Camcorder : Canon DC100 DVD Camcorder

This camcorder writes directly to DVD's – either R or RW – and as such avoids any possible data transfer problems to a PC.

Small enough to fit in a wide pocket, the is 12x5x8.5cm and given that the mini DVD are 8cm it could not be and smaller. The weight is around 400grams. Canon DC100 This unit can use DVD-R or DVD-RW discs the differences are not just that a DVD-R can...

SimplyDV Review: Canon DC100 DVD Camcorder

Simple design, easy to use, good quality widescreen and audio, good value for money, ideal for complete newbie

It's a basic, but good quality, DVD camcorder aimed at the casual home video user and at a price won't break the bank. For the target market - it's ideal. Venture further up the range if you're looking for increased functionality, however.

Wished I had it returned within 30 days.

Great for videotaping up to 30 minutes on DVD-R & convenient for fast files transfer to PC

Video quality lacks solid smooth color. (My 3 yr old Canon A70 does even better job for video color quality.) Pick up loud noise when recording. Resolution for still photo is awful but it is understandable. Have a big regret and disappoinment to own...

Canon DC 100 review

Hardly the polar opposite, the Canon DC100 DVD camcorder is a very different beast from the Canon DC40 that I like so much. In addition to the obvious dissimilarities--the DC100's longer 25X zoom lens, lower-resolution 680,000-pixel sensor, and...
