The Canon Optura 50 features almost all of the elements that made its older brother, the Optura 60, such a great camcorder. It is the lowest end of the Optura series this year, but it retains the same 1/3.4” CCD, solid automatic and manual controls,...

Canon MVX40, MVX40i and MVX45i DV Camcorder Reviews

Nice handling, manual zoom and top-loading are good features on both models. 14x Optical Zoom is an asset (MVX45i).

Strange motor noise when recording in very quiet situations. Low light definition is acceptable but not quite as good as other models.

MVX40 and 40i are good starter cams. MVX45i is great for users needing 14x zoom, movie light and more advanced features.
