Panasonic SD80 review: Panasonic SD80

Panasonic SD80

The ; camcorders provide manual controls in a functional, if somewhat boring, design.

The sub-HD resolution sensor produces merely satisfactory video.

A functional trio of camcorders, the Panasonic HDC-SD80, TM80, and HS80 are notable for their manual exposure controls, unusual for their price class, and well designed touch-screen interface but otherwise you can find better options. Of the three, the...

Panasonic HDC-SD80 HD Camcorder Review

The Panasonic SD80, as well as the TM80 and HS80, are really tweener devices. They have advanced features only found on the high-end Panasonic models just last year and a handful of manual controls, yet they lack the options that I think make for a...

Panasonic HDC-SD80

A budget model that still offers some user controls.

Decent low-light performance, Touch-screen LCD, Manual features

Relatively expensive for a budget model, No accessory shoe, No mic input

Panasonic HDC-SD80

Panasonic's SD card-based HD camcorder has exceptional zoom quality and a blinding front LED light.

A good range of automatic features ; Compact and lightweight ; Good video quality

Intelligent auto lighting can be blinding ; Stills are predictably not a strong point ; Battery jutting out makes hitting the record button a little tough

Sitting price-wise, as it does, at the intersection of more fully featured prosumer models and the really cheap entry-level camcorder range, the SD80 offers a fair balance of quality and features that should enable amateur videographers to improve...

Panasonic HDC-SD80EB-K review

The first of Panasonic's new camcorders, the SD card-based HDC-SD90, gained a five-star rating thanks to its great image quality. The HDC-SD80 is the next model down. It's even smaller, being almost as tiny as an airline-sized ginger ale, also records...

Panasonic's SD80 has far worse video quality than the SD90, so it's definitely not worth the £50 saving.

Panasonic HDC-SD80

With the latest camera phones capable of shooting 1080p video, manufacturers of camcorders are having to try harder than ever to sell their products. The Panasonic HDC-SD80 sits at the affordable end of the market, offering loads of features at a price...

Overall, we like the Panasonic HDC-SD80. Although there are more affordable options on the market, it's a very capable device, and the decent touchscreen, big zoom and ability to shoot Full HD video make it an attractive option. Panasonic HDC-SD80 is...

Review: Panasonic HDC-SD80 Camcorder

Panasonic has been hitting the market with more camcorders than you can poke a fluffy microphone at. And as if to prove the point, enter the HDC-SD80, which the company released earlier this year, and might be one of those camcorders that will make...

The spring-loaded lens cover is another cost-cutting exercise. Unusually, it flicks down automatic

Our biggest worry when looking at the specs was the sensor size. Instead of the SD90's 1/4.1in sen

Panasonic HDC SD80

The camera is amazing, best money I have spent. Quality is fantastic and it's very easy to use.

Only thing I can pick at is that the battery only lasts around 2 hours when being used, But this is to be expected as is recording in such high quality so I am just nit picking.
