If high storage capacity, long zoom range and easy operation are above video quality on your list of needs, the Sony Handycam DCR-SR47 is well worth a look.

Nice camcorder, working great since 2009

 

We have had this since 2009. These days it does not get a lot of use given our cell phones are just more handy. The internal 60gb drive is adequate sized. transfering videos is easy enough.

The door hinge feels a bit lightweight

I like this cam so far so good...I would opp for another battery or a higher rated one..The optional acc bag is really cool and comes with a memory stix..

Great Sound!! Lot's of HD space for recording many hours!! No tape,Cd or memory cards needed. Small and lightwieght. Powerful zoom

Picture snaps are a joke (really low quailty and the button is in a strage spot on the cam) Need's lots of light to capture good video..Not HD...Zoom need's a really steady hand or tripod just like any other cam. Another con I would say is the Sony...
