Purchased to replace Hi 8 model as i had many recorded tapes not copied. Unfortunatly this digital model will not play standard 8mm recordings as was sugested in the shop.

MY SONY TRV 265 IS AROUND 8 YEARS OLD (WHEN .THEY FIRST CAME OUT IN THE UK). THE QUALITY OF IMAGE OF A 0.5 MP STILL, AND RELATED VIDEO QUALITY (LONG BEFORE HD (640 X 480?), ARE INCREDIBLE. FOR HOME &/OR ART PROJECT (AMATEUR) VIDEOS, EXTREMELY VERSATILE...

CONSIDERING IT WAS SMALLER THAN MOST CAMS AT THE TIME (A LTTLE LARGE TODAY) & THAT HD TECHNOLOGY & HARD DRIVES WERE TO COME , I WOULD BE BEING PITHY, MOANING.

I am happy with my web cam. Its easy to use and gives good quality.

It is large in size. I cannot use it with my WINDOWS 7 PC to transfer. I find it most irritating. No sony manual says how to connect to my PC using iLink cable.

Pros - It was the cheapest sony handycam at the time. Easy to use. Cons - Uses 8mm tapes. These are getting expensive as sony seem to be the only company using the digital 8 format. Overall - I'm happy with mine. It got me through a video editing unit...

After having experienced Sony's current poor quality and shocking customer service, I will never be buying a Sony product again.

Nothing sufficient to counter the poor quality.

Sony equipment simply isn't the quality it used to be. It is pretty much guaranteed to break as soon as the warranty period ends, and when it does Sony will leave you high and dry. The warranty period is only one year, which is really indicative of the...
