Panasonic VDR-M53 miniDVD camcorder

The Panasonic VDR-M53 miniDVD camcorder is the most inexpensive DVD camcorder we've seen—and performs like it.

Easy-to-use menus. Good zoom range. Quite inexpensive.

Mediocre video quality. Some manual controls were difficult to use. Colors should be more accurate.

A good basic camera... but Panasonic has moved on

I love this camera. for the price I paid (about $350 new) it works great. It's small, easy to handle, has reasonably good sound and works in most light conditions.

small, light and it uses cheap DVD-R's No more cassettes! yeah

it gets hot to the touch. battery life is not great ~45 mins
