Huawei Ascend G330 - An Affordable Android 4.0 Option

Dual-core processor, 512MB RAM, 4GB internal memory and 4.0-inch WVGA screen aside, the Huawei Ascend G330 is also retrofitted with Android 4.0 out-of-the-box. Is it a device that far outweighs its price tag? Let's check it out after the jump.

Very affordable price ; Decent battery life ; Decent 4.0-inch LCD screen ; Android 4.0 OS

Limited internal memory space ; Heavy build ; Camera performance needs improvement

What can we say? The Huawei Ascend G330 is a very good device and given its price point, S$239, we would say it is a good steal. It does pretty well on almost all fronts except, unfortunately, for its imaging performance.

Huawei Ascend G330 review: a worthy successor

Huawei had a big winner on its hands in the form of the Ascend G300, a phone launched back in the spring of 2012 exclusively through Vodafone in the UK. Ar

A budget Android phone you won't need to sign up to a contract to afford.

Excellent value, Reasonable screen, Solid array of features

More lag than specs might suggest, Buggy, A little heavy and chunky, Shutter lag in camera

Huawei G330

Cheap really is a relative term. Back when GSM phones didn't do the internet, and Ericsson ruled the roost with phones like the T28, £200 was about the most money you could spend on a normal handset. We know, because around the millennium we did...

Sensibly priced, solidly built, no excess software or nonsense

Not that exciting, more expensive than its predecessor

For less than £200 - Huawei tells us it expects this phone to be around the same as the G300 in retail price, although we've only seen it for around £180 - you get an Android phone with a decent screen, a recent version of Android in Ice Cream Sandwich...

Huawei Ascend G330 review

A worthy successor for the popular G300?

Good for web and apps ; Good battery life ; Bright display ; Smooth in use

Creaky case ; Bland plastic design ; RAM restricts multi-tasking uses ; Poor video recording

It's a little bit bland and there's nothing to love or get excited about, but for £10 a month you can't really expect glassy backs and spangles and a chassis built by robots on the International Space Station. The Ascend G330 is a surprisingly well...

Huawei Ascend G330 review

This generic-looking handset is built entirely from plastic, but it feels tough enough. It's still no stunner, yet the Huawei Ascend G330 is better looking than the G300, with that handset's silver-and-black livery swapped out in favour of an all-black...

The G330 is a useful update to the G300. Huawei's Ascend smartphone still offers incredible value at just £10 per month, and is now supplied with a faster dual-core processor, a front-facing camera for video chat, and a few design tweaks that make it a...

Huawei Ascend G330 review

Chinese brand Huawei made quite a splash with the G300, awell-specced smartphone for a bit over £100 that delivered the kindof spec you'd expect to see on a much more expensive handset. Canthe G330 repeat the trick?

Decent screen, fast processor, okay camera, reasonable price

Battery's not great, kinda chunky, flimsy back panel

The Huawei Ascend G330 offers a decent range of specs forthe price though it doesn't quite have the "How much!?" effect ofthe G300. Still, with a fast processor, decent screen and not-badcamera, it's another very solid budget contender.
