Huawei P8 Lite review: The affordable P8 Lite can't outweigh its competitors

The P8 Lite is an affordable unlocked device, but it has plenty of viable challengers hot on its heels.

The Huawei P8 Lite has a low price, a lightweight design, a sharp camera and dual-SIM capabilities.

The handset runs the rather dated Android KitKat OS, and its camera settings don't rotate when the phone is held in landscape mode.

The Huawei P8 Lite's affordable unlocked price is compelling, but the Alcatel OneTouch Idol 3 is a much better deal.

Huawei P8 (Unlocked)

The beautiful Huawei P8 is an impressive smartphone in its own right, but the off-putting Apple envy will likely turn Android fans off.

Exceptional build quality. Polished software experience. Well-rounded performance.

Blatantly derivative design. Nearly unrecognizable Android OS.

Camera and Conclusions The 13-megapixel, rear-facing camera takes fine still images in a variety of lighting scenarios. Outdoors and in good light, shots are brimming with crisp details and lifelike color. Dynamic range is especially strong, as the P8...

Huawei P8 review: Top-end performance without the price tag

The Huawei P8 packs a host of high-end tech into a slim, all-metal body and doesn't charge the Earth for it.

The Huawei P8 has a bright and bold screen, a sleek, all-metal body, plenty of power and a decent camera.

The camera quality suffers at full screen and Huawei's custom software makes drastic changes to the Android interface which won't appeal to everyone.

The Huawei P8 lacks some of the shine of its flagship phone rivals, but it still delivers an uncompromising mix of features and performance for a far cheaper price.

The Huawei P8 Review

It's been a month now since Huawei launched its new smartphone flagship, the P8. Huawei started Ascend P-line of smartphones back in 2012 with the launch of the Ascend P1, and has since iterated every year with the follow up P6, P7, and this year's P8....

Nevertheless, one has to acknowledge that Huawei managed to make huge strides with the P8. It's clear that the company is trying to improve its weaknesses one at a time, as we saw the use of a much more reasonable SoC, better NAND performance, and a...

Huawei P8 Smartphone Review

Light artist. The Huawei P8 is the latest flagship device from the Chinese company, which does not only have an elegant design, but also offers a lot inside the aluminum chassis: Build quality, camera and display can meet the highest demands. However,...

Nice design, Very good build quality, Great camera, Decent battery runtimes, Good speakers, Memory can be expanded, Great voice quality with wind noise suppression, Good price-performance ratio

SoC is a bit too slow and reduces the performance under load, No LTE Cat. 6, No ac-WLAN, Neither Qi-charging nor Quick Charge, Videos only up to 1080p @ 30 fps, Only average GPS, Power adaptor not powerful enough

The Huawei P8 shows that the Chinese can build very good smartphones. The device can impress in many areas and can compete with the much more expensive rivals from Samsung, HTC and Apple.

Huawei P8 awarded as best consumer smartphone

The EISA organization highlighted its 2,680mAh capacity battery, f/2 lens developed for better low‐light performance and the P8’s excellent 5.2‐inch Full HD IPS‐NEO display. The low-light camera performance allows consumers to be more creative using...

Huawei P8 Review

With the announcement of its latest flagship handset, Huawei has shed the Ascend moniker, choosing instead to go with a direct approach by merely naming it the P8. From the looks of it, Huawei has been cognizant to improve the P8 in several key areas,...

Premium metal design ; Excellent still image quality ; Cool low light capture modes ; Lower outright cost than most other flagship phones ; Expandable storage

EMUI 3.1 experience isn’t for power users ; Knuckle gestures are a bit obnoxious ; Underpowered performance with graphics processing ; Dull looking 1080p video recording quality

Success has been something that Huawei can proclaim of late, especially if we’re to look back a few years ago when the company had that reputation of making cheapo phones. Lately, though, they’ve been aggressive in reaching that status of being a...

Huawei P8 review: metallic mastery

Andy takes an extended look at the Huawei P8 -- the Chinese manufacturer's latest flagship smartphone.

: If Huawei spent half as much time focusing on development of its phones rather than the lavish launches it affords, the Huawei P8 would be the greatest Android device ever made. There are compromises, but very few, and where the company excelled this...

Huawei P8: The best flagship smartphone you've never heard of [Review]

Huawei is not, perhaps, a name that springs immediately to mind when you think about smartphones. But with this latest model the Chinese manufacturer is making a bid for a slice of the top end market dominated by the likes of the iPhone and Samsung...

Shop around and you can pick up a 16GB P8 for about £360 which is cheaper than the competition from Samsung and Apple. If you want a contract, Carphone Warehouse is currently offering it for £21.50 a month on its own iD network. Price is really the...
