Kyocera Verve review: Quirky QWERTY style for the right price

The Kyocera Verve feature handset may not be on the bleeding edge of smartphone technology, but as a starter device, it does deliver high marks on the basics.

Sprint and Boost's inexpensive and compact Kyocera Verve has a decent camera, a user-friendly interface, and media transferring capabilities via USB.

The handset's call volume is low, its Web experience is glacial, and both of its keypads have a few design hiccups.

The fun-looking Kyocera Verve delivers the bare-bone basics of a feature phone well, and its ability to easily transfer its photos will satisfy casual shutterbugs.

Review: Kyocera Verve for Sprint

Kyocera still knows how to make a basic smartphone with a physical QWERTY keyboard, as evidenced by the Verve. This low-cost handset handles calls and messaging - though not much else.

Great Phone

I bought this phone for my brother. He's a landscaper and very rough on phones. He doesn't text or use the Internet, he just uses it as a phone. He loves it. It works well in New Jersey where we live and only costs $20 p/month for unlimited minutes and...

Nice keyboard, that's it

I am very disappointed with this phone for a number of reasons. Let me first say that the phone is very pleasing to the eye and the keyboard is the reason I purchased it over other phones. Another reason I purchased this phone was because I was...

Does what a phone should, but it's not functional.

For under $30, this about as much phone as you will get. It calls and receives calls, texts and somewhat allows you to surf the Net. However, this Kyocera phone is pretty bulky. And there is a hidden keyboard behind the phone that slides out. It's kind...
