Motorola Gleam review

The Motorola Gleam is a flashback to yesteryear when thin flip phones were all the rage

Competitive price ; Easy to use ; Stylish design

No microSD card included ; Short notification time of front screen ; Fingerprint magnet

The Motorola Gleam is a stylish feature phone with a flip design and an easy to use proprietary operating system. If you're looking for a phone that just does the basics, you should definitely check it out.

Motorola Gleam Preview

The Motorola Gleam is a slick, compact flip/clamshell phone with a heavy emphasis on style and design. It's very much a spiritual successor to the Motorola Razr, the ultra-slim flip phone that kicked…

"The Motorola Gleam is a slick, compact flip phone with a heavy emphasis on style and design."

Though the Motorola Gleam doesn't pack a lot of internal storage (just 32MB of flash memory) you can expand this up to 16GB with a microSD card. This gives you a bit more room for things like pictures and MP3 playlists.

Motorola Gleam+

The Motorola Gleam+, as its name implies, is the sequel to the original Motorola Gleam - a phone we championed thanks to its retro design and old-school feature set.

As you'd expect, the Gleam+ promises to improve on the original. At 13.5mm thick its thinner than its older brother, despite packing the same retro clamshell design which is available in both Silver and Winter White. The from of the handset is home to...

Motorola Gleam

2011's Mobile World Congress was of full of high end smartphones, from the Samsung Galaxy S2 to LG's Optimus 3D. Motorola on the other hand, took a different approach, announcing a time-honored feature phone dubbed the Motorola Gleam.

Capturing the old school stylings of the Motorola Razr, the Gleam features a super-shiny casing, ideal for those who like a bit of bling, although not so good for those who don't like fingerprints. It may look stylish but it isn't the skinniest of...

A welcome replacement!

Bought by request because the user really likes the clamshell style of their previous Motorola. Not too technical but a good upgrade, very pleased with the style. Only criticism is the flimsy nature of the back. This feels somewhat fragile.
