Nokia 6700 slide review: Braving the odds

A stylish and durable steel body, compact size and smartphone skill, the Nokia 6700 slide looks strong enough to hold its own in a modern world. Touchscreen, Android and whatnot have forced a sea change and many fear Symbian to have...

Quad-band GSM/GPRS/EDGE support ; Tri-band 3G with 10Mbps HSDPA and 2Mbps HSUPA ; Solid metal casing ; 2.2" 16M-color QVGA display with excellent sunlight legibility ; 5 megapixel autofocus camera with Carl-Zeiss lens, dual LED flash ; VGA video...

No WLAN ; No GPS receiver ; Small display ; No preinstalled document viewer ; 2.5mm audio jack limits third-party headphones choice ; Memory card slot under the back cover

The Nokia 6700 slide brings enough updates to justify its existence – smartphone skill, an audio jack and video-calling are there to address some of the main grudges we had with the 6700 classic. Gaps in the spec sheet are prominent enough though. GPS...

Sprint PPC-6700

This is the best Windows Mobile PDA/phone we've seen, with a nearly ideal balance of size and power, though we have a few quibbles.

Good EV-DO/Wi-Fi integration. Excellent keyboard. Small size. Good battery life.

Poor speakerphone. Lagging applications. Can't dial with one hand.

Nokia 6700 slide Review

In this review we'll be looking at a new non-touch phone from Nokia - the 6700 slide. Our journey won't be boring though, as the Nokia 6700 slide is a smartphone, running the Symbian S60 3rd Edition operating system. Not only that, but it's also really...

Nokia 6700 Review

It is an unusual move for a manufacturer to release a phone with practically none of the newer gimmicks popular in newer handsets. However Nokia has done just that, with a slim and stylish handset designed to perform the everyday functions of a phone...

Nokia 6700 Slide Review: First Impressions

We've had the Nokia 6700 Slide for about 2 days here at ZCJ. Here are our First Impressions. What we liked: That screen might be just 2.2 inches, but the 240 x 320 pixel resolution looks very crisp and sharp Related posts:

Nokia 6700 Slide

Despite the similar name, the 6700 Slide is actually an S60 smartphone where the Classic version is not. This means that the Slide is much more capable and expandable than the Classic, although it is questionable if many customers in this market...

Nokia 6700 slide Review - Affordable Symbian Smartphone

In a market dominated by Android, iOS and Blackberry, it is a little surprising to see that Nokia is still the best selling handset manufacturer in the world. Symbian smartphones continue to retail very well on emerging markets, but it's not the...

Nokia 6700 Slide review

Does Nokia's plastic slider smartphone justify the price tag?

Small for the hand and pocket ; Good key pad ; Two way video calling ; Nice, easy to use camera

No Wi-Fi ; Small screen ; Not suited to web browsing ; 2.5mm headset connector

Nokia's dogged commitment to producing a wide range of handsets for a wide range of budgets and types of interest continues with the 6700 Slide.
