Nokia 6710 Navigator review: Destination: Anywhere

GPS is a must-have for every self-respecting phone these days. And it doesn't even have to be a smartphone. From geotagging, through location-aware services and gaming, to full-featured in-car SatNav...

Symbian OS 9.3, Series 60 3rd with FP2 ; 600MHz ARM 11 processor ; Quad-band GSM/GPRS/EDGE ; Dual-band HSDPA 10.2 Mbps; HSUPA 2 Mbps ; 2.6" 16M-color QVGA display (bigger and better than the Nokia 6210 Navigator) ; Accelerometer for screen auto...

Camera lacks trendy features such as face, smile or blink detection ; Video recording maxes out at VGA@15fps ; Alphanumeric keypad is somewhat crammed given the space available ; No smart dialing ; No DivX/XviD support out of the box (can be installed,...

Be that as it may, the 6710 Navigator will perhaps never be entirely convincing against a full-touch operated phone that takes navigation seriously, not to mention dedicated sat-nav equipment. But when it comes to another important question, the latest...

Nokia 6710 Navigator Review

Nokia is one of the few manufacturers that offer their own solution to the navigational problems some of us face on regular basis. While most major players would rather play safe and take advantage of products by leaders of the navigation industry like...

Nokia 6710 Navigator

The 6710 puts its shortcomings in the foreground, and if you can live without a large screen to navigate by this latest handset will do the trick nicely. Its excellent camera sweetens the deal, adding an outstanding tool for tourists.

Zoom bar is awesome, GPS hardware is powerful, 5-megapixel camera is a stand-out

2.6-inch screen is too small for the task, Boring beige design breaks no new ground

Nokia 6710 Navigator

It's an impressive, but not altogether surprising, upgrade to the 6210. The new 6710 has a larger screen, better camera and longer battery life, and at €300 it is cheaper than the 6210 was when it was launched.

Nokia 6710 Navigator - HardwareZone.com

The Nokia 6710 Navigator navigation-centric device has much to offer with Nokia's latest Ovi Maps and lifetime navigation license on top of its basic cellular functionality.

Nokia 6710 Navigator smartphone

Despite the Navigator's small screen the Nokia 6710 mobile phone provides a solid GPS experience

Build quality and design, touch sensitive zoom bar, navigation experience, lifetime navigation subscription, 3.5mm headphone jack, 5-megapixel camera

Screen is too small, navigation voice could be louder, can't charge via USB, battery cover is difficult to remove

Nokia's 6710 Navigator won't replace your standalone GPS due to its small screen. For a mobile phone though, it provides a solid and smooth navigation experience thanks to a combination of good hardware and well designed software.

Nokia 6710 Navigator

Nokia's third Navigator in the series is the best of the bunch thus far, though its small screen will dissuade many from binning their TomToms for in-car use.

Nokia 6710 Navigator review

The small screen will annoy many users, but the addition of a great zoom bar, a free lifetime subscription to the GPS maps and an excellent build quality make the Nokia 6710 Navigator worth a closer look.

Nokia 6710 Navigator

The lifelong subscription to the Maps Drive navigation service you receive with the Nokia 6710 is excellent, and so too is the availability of maps for overseas destinations.

Lifelong subscription, overseas maps, carkit

Screen too small, very particular about the area when searching
