Nokia N900 review: A new hope

It's crystal clear by now that the Nokia N900 has almost nothing to do with the traditional Nseries values. The full QWERTY side-slider may look similar to its double-digit mates but the Maemo experience is completely different...

The internet tablet genes are strong in the Nokia N900 so connectivity and web-browsing are its greatest virtues. The large high-res display and great typing skills are the right kind of backup but we've seen plenty of similar packages already. We told...

Western Digital My Net N900 HD dual-band router review

Western Digital, one of the biggest hard-drive makers, officially entered the realm of networking today with a family of five wireless routers, with the My Net N900 HD being the top tier. This totally new router offers something its peers have never...

The Western Digital My Net N900 HD dual-band router offers a fresh approach to wireless routers with seven Gigabit LAN ports and an effective FastTrack Plus QoS feature. The router's 5Ghz band and its storage feature also performed very well.

The My Net N900's 2.4Ghz band could use improvement. The router doesn't support 802.11ac, nor does it have an easy way for users to access its connected USB external drive over the Internet.

The Western Digital My Net N900 HD is a whole new kind of Wireless-N router. At release, the router is a decent investment for home users but will need better firmware to work at its full potential.

Excellent browsing experience ; Superb camera

Interface can be tricky to navigate ; No MMS support

The Nokia N900 is ideal for techies who want a lot of customization and power; anyone looking for apps and aesthetics may want to go with a more mainstream smartphone.

Nokia N900

Hack away! The Nokia N900 smartphone invites true geeks to make it their mobile computer.

Linux-based OS. Powerful processor. High-resolution screen. Excellent voice quality. Eminently hackable.

Elegant-looking interface can be confusing. Few apps, unless you're a Linux hacker.

Nokia says most of these issues will be fixed in future updates, with the first update coming within the next few weeks. The N900 will get Ovi Store, proper Exchange syncing, and more. But the N900 is already on sale in this unfinished form.—Next:...

Nokia N900 Review

In many ways, Nokia's oddball device matches every other phone in this story, feature for feature. It's kind of like a Swiss Army Phone made by Finns. Front-facing camera? Check. Rear-facing camera with Carl Zeiss Tessar lens? Check. Touch screen and a...

Nokia N900 Review

This phone can be turned into a beast, but one that is not very easy to tame. If you are not looking for the customizable Linux experience, then many of the other features of the N900 can also be found on cheaper devices.

Highly-customizable Linux operating system, Maemo, Efficient multitasking, Rich free application library

Bulky and heavy, No Ovi Suite support for PC Sync, Non finger-friendly touchscreen

Nokia N900 - Multimedia Mogul

Here is one latecomer that should have been Nokia's much-hyped flagship phone a year ago. The Nokia N900 has that high-end look and heavy-duty feel, plus the latest OS (Maemo 5, pronounced MAY-mo) and software features that had us concluding that Nokia...

Excellent multimedia features

Sluggish processing

The Nokia N900 could have arrived earlier and made a bigger impact in the mobile computing market. Still, it shows what Nokia can do and that there is much promise and progress for Nokia's upcoming phones. With its good hardware, refreshing OS and...
