Nokia X3-02 Touch and Type review: Slim and sharp

Nokia is trying really hard to build back some lost trust. The new Symbian^3 smartphones are just one weapon in their armory. The other is the touch-enabled lineup of feature phones called Touch and Type. S40 has never before been into the touch...

Quad-band GSM/GPRS/EDGE support ; Quad-band 3G with 10Mbps HSDPA and 2Mbps HSUPA ; Neat and well built, slim and lightweight, metal on the body ; 2.4" 256K-color resistive TFT QVGA touchscreen ; S40 6th edition UI ; 5 megapixel fixed-focus camera ; VGA...

Small screen (for a touch phone) ; No multitasking ; No GPS ; Fixed-focus camera ; No document viewer ; No smart dialing ; No video-call camera ; No accelerometer sensor

Nokia X3-02 Touch and Type (Unlocked)

The unlocked Nokia X3-02 is yet another model in a long line of capable, unlocked Nokia cell phones that few Americans need or want; if you're one of the few target customers, Nokia offers much better options.

Attractive and lightweight. Solid call quality. Easy to use one-handed. Good camera and music player.

Cluttered home screen. "Typing" is tough without a QWERTY keyboard. Finicky haptic feedback. Shaky data connection. No voice dialing or GPS.

Multimedia, Camera, and Conclusions The music player shortcut key, home screen widget, microSD card slot underneath the battery, and standard-size 3.5mm headphone jack on top of the phone makes this a decent music player. My 32GB SanDisk card worked...

Nokia X3-02 Touch and Type Review

Having looked at several models from Nokia's Symbian^3 smartphone range over the past few months - including the range-topping Nokia N8 - today it's the turn of more basic fare from the company. The Nokia X3-02 Touch and Type may have a touchscreen but...

With the focus on mid- to high-end smartphones, it’s easy to forget that there’s a considerable market for capable, well-designed feature-phones. The X3-02 isn’t perfect in that respect – we’re not keen on Nokia’s tendency over the years to tinker with...

Nokia X3 Touch and Type Review

The Nokia X3 Touch and Type (also known as the Nokia X3-02) is one of those phones that won't break the bank, but might still blow your mind. Why, you ask, might such a simple-looking phone make me stop in my tracks? With the name being an indication...

Nokia X3-02 Touch and Type - All the right S's

Smooth, sexy, sensuous, the Nokia X3-02 Touch and Type has all the right S's. A lot can be said about its style but more so about its features and functionality. This one will be a sure hit with everyone with its price and packaging and we cannot say...

Great build and design, plethora of connectivty options

No autofocus or flash, poor sunlight legibility ; no document viewer

So how many S’s have you seen in this review? Our final verdict as expected is in favor of the Nokia X3-02 Touch and Type and we will not say anything more.

Nokia X3 Touch and Type (X3-02)

Pitched to sell at about â'¬125 before tax and subsidy, the X3 Touch and Type offers a very respectable number of features for the money. On the back is a 5 megapixel camera with QVGA video capture at 20 frames per second. The X3 Touch and Type is a...

Nokia X3 Touch and Type mobile phone

Nokia may no longer be a leader in the high-end smartphone market, but the Finnish giant still leads the way in low priced, feature phones. Its latest...

Thin and light design ; Responsive touch screen ; Redesigned user interface

Awkward position of some keys ; Poor Web browser ; Limited apps

Nokia's X3 Touch and Type's form factor may initially look a little odd, but the experience using it is anything but. This is an excellent, basic feature phone with a great design, and it is highly recommended for anyone who doesn't need a fully...

Nokia X3-02 Touch and Type

The Nokia X3-02 Touch and Type is an easy intro to the world of touchscreen phones

Good keypad ; Strong connectivity ; Slim-bodied

No GPS ; Poor app support ; Resistive touchscreen

On top of the phone there are 3.5mm headphone, micro USB and proprietary Nokia charging ports. The X3-02 can be charged over USB as well as the Nokia jack, but charging is slower than with Nokia's adapter, which we suppose is of import to some people...

Nokia X3 Touch and Type review

Nokia brings back touchscreen Symbian S40 again, but is Android too far ahead?

Long battery life ; Good camera ; Small and light ; Good build ; Wi-Fi

Strange keyboard layout ; S40 feels old hat and out of touch ; Screen is too small for quality web browsing ; Much touted music features don't blow us away ; Video streaming jerky

The Nokia X3 Touch and Type is one for Nokia fans and those who fear the freedom Android offers.
