OnePlus 5T review

The OnePlus 5T gives you this year's must-have mobile tech for less.

6-inch AMOLED screen with slim bezels ; Great performance, simple software ; Competitive price ; Face unlock works well ; Capable camera with strong portrait mode

No water resistance ; Old version of Android installed at launch

OnePlus continues to make it difficult to justify spending more on a smartphone. So don’t. The OnePlus 5T is really all you need.

OnePlus 5T review

The OnePlus 5T is the mid-season substitute to the company's flagship (and, as of late, only) smartphone. The T doesn't bring radical changes - on the contrary; it's a minor update to help the 5 stay in fashion and, as a side effect, why not spark up...

OnePlus 5T review: A $500 mid-range phone with the heart of a $900 flagship

The OnePlus 5T refreshes the 5 with a new 6-inch screen and skinny bezels, and a camera that's better but still a step below the best.

Display upgrade brings it in line with premium Android phones. ; Chip and battery life are simply stellar. ; OxygenOS is nearly as good as stock Android.

Camera is better, but the loss of a telephoto lens is a bummer. ; No expandable storage, water resistance, or wireless charging.

Despite its Never Settle mantra, OnePlus’s phones have always come with certain caveats. The the OnePlus 5T has its compromises, but the company's aggressive strategy of rolling out new handsets twice as fast as its Android peers has paid big...

OnePlus 5T adds incremental updates to our favorite mid-price phone

The OnePlus 5T improves an already solid flagship phone and earned our Editors' Choice. But if you have the OnePlus 5, don't fret.

The OnePlus 5T has a bigger screen and its camera takes better low-light photos than the 5. Its few software tweaks are useful in small ways.

The phone's face unlock doesn't authorize payments and its dual camera's digital rather than telephoto zoom is a step back. There's no expandable storage, and it's not rated for water resistance.

The OnePlus 5T is a superb, affordable phone for new buyers, despite only minor changes from the OnePlus 5.

OnePlus 5T

The OnePlus 5T is the best midrange phone out there, but it's too expensive to be an American midrange phone. This creates a quandary in the US market.

Fast processor for the price. Bright screen. Better-than-average front camera. Well-placed fingerprint sensor.

Low-resolution screen for its size. Not water resistant. Modem doesn't have the latest features.

There's an 'uncanny valley' in phone pricing in the US. We buy a lot of phones that cost less than $400, but if we're going to spend $500, pretty often we spend $700, especially if that $700 phone comes with a monthly payment plan.

OnePlus 5T review: polished to a T

In practice, this phone isn't the total fulfillment of every objective that OnePlus set for itself nor every promise the company has made. But it's damn close.

Minimalist, elegant design ; Fits 6-inch display within the dimensions of a one-handed phone ; Thoughtfully optimized software ; Reading Mode

The main camera is still not as good as flagship competition ; Shipping without the latest version of Android is not encouraging ; Face Unlock grows frustratingly inconsistent in challenging light ; Still not waterproof

The best phone without a great camera

Great 6-inch 1080p (2160x1080) 18:9 display ; Good battery life ; USB-C and headphone jack ports ; Amazingly fast Dash charging ; Great performance ; Premium built-quality at a good price

No microSD slot ; Not water resistant ; No wireless charging ; No optical zoom ; No OIS

OnePlus 5T Smartphone Review

It is back! Only a few months after its predecessor was released, OnePlus has now presented its newest smartphone. The OnePlus 5T comes in the modern 2:1 format and has improved cameras. But are there enough changes for it to be a convincing update?...

very stable metal case ; wide range of LTE bands ; fast Wi-Fi ; fast UFS-2.1 memory ; very high performance ; color-accurate screen ; slim, up-to-date software ; precise GPS ; clear call quality ; optional dark software theme ; very good cameras ;...

rather heavy ; no microSD slot ; microphone distorts loud sounds ; lack of color at wider viewing angles ; not water or dust resistant ; heats up under extreme load ; minimal loss in performance at very high load

The OnePlus 5T is a great smartphone for smart spenders: A good price, low power consumption and a great price-performance ratio. The OnePlus 5T is currently one of the fastest smartphones available that also offers a very durable battery, good...
