Palm Treo 500v

Although it's a good smartphone, the 500v needs either Wi-Fi or HSDPA to deliver that knockout punch.

Jazzed up Windows Mobile 6 interface, QWERTY keyboard, although it takes time to learn two thumb typing, Not carrier locked

Laggy responses to button clicks, No Wi-Fi or HSDPA

REVIEW: Palm Treo 500v Windows Mobile 6 Standard Smartphone

For two weeks, I had the pleasure to test Palm's new Treo 500v smartphone which the American PDA veteran introduce mid last month. The Treo 500v marks a quite historical milestone in Palm's long history since it is the first non-touchscreen device...

Palm Treo 500v Review

After being a Palm OS user for quite some years, it was very interesting for me to get the opportunity to test a model running Windows Mobile 6 Standard

100% keyboard/D-pad operation ; very bright screen ; nice design (got feedback from some ladies on that aspect) ; pricing: 0 GBP in UK with 18 month contract, 50 EUR in Germany with 2 year contract BUT 400 EUR when no contract which is MORE then what I...

no copy-paste in any text enabled field ; getting to Calendar, Contacts, Tasks, etc. is a multi-keypress adventure depending on where you start (either from Home, either from somewhere else at which point you first need to press Home). Especially when...

It has also since launched in MobileOne Vodafone in Singapore, Celcom Vodafone in Malaysia, Vodafone Indonesia, Vodafone Australia and Vodafone NZ

The Palm Treo 500v is an interesting smartphone. It's not Palm's masterpiece everybody expected but it's a good Windows Mobile Standard Smartphone anyway. Feature-wise it's not complete, international travelers will definitely miss quadband GSM and...

Palm Treo 500v

Positioned as an entry-level smartphone in the Palm range, the Treo 500v is aimed at both mobile professionals, and regular consumers who might be int...

Design, user interface, comfortable keyboard, A2DP Bluetooth, solid features list

No Wi-Fi, no standard 3.5mm headphone jack

The Treo 500v aims to appeal to a broad audience thanks to its user-friendly menu system, a sleek design and a range of multimedia features. It's not perfect, but is definitely a welcomed entry into the market.

Palm Treo 500v smartphone

Palm has gone all "consumer" with its latest smartphone, but has ditching the touchscreen worked? We get calling to find out. Although Palm isn't keen to say this, the Treo 500v is clearly a direct competitor to the BlackBerry Curve (8300). Available...

3G, QWERTY keyboard, IM apps pre-installed

Keyboard is spongy, bulbous design

If you ask Palm, it will say that the Treo 500v is for "the kids" keen to keep in touch with their social networking friends. We disagree. If that is the case the phone doesn't fit at all. It's bulbous design and un-hip colour schemes (you know the...

Palm Treo 500v review

Fast, easy to use, good battery life but design lets it down

3G connectivity ; Simple to use ; Familiar Windows Mobile interface ; Good battery life ; Pre-installed applications

Cramped keyboard ; Boring design ; Poor camera

Its design largely fails to inspire, but performance is more than a match for most of its rivals
