Palm Treo Pro (Sprint)

The Windows Mobile-powered Treo Pro for Sprint is a solid, snappy business smartphone, even though it stands in the shadow of Palm's highly anticipated Pre.

Good voice quality. Responsive UI. Smooth video playback.

Mediocre reception. Poor battery life. Could use more RAM and a better Web browser. Camera lacks some basic features.

Treo Pro

After a few delays, the Palm Treo Pro is now shipping from Sprint (for $200 with a two-year contract, as of 3/5/09). This smart phone will please Windows Mobile fans with its sleek design and its business-friendly features. Sprint customers seeking a...

Sleek design Includes applet to close running programs

Keyboard and display feel cramped Below-average camera

The 2-megapixel camera is mediocre. With no flash, pictures appeared dark and blurry. In outdoor shots, colors looked washed out and images seemed grainy. The camera has a few advanced features, namely 8X digital zoom, brightness and white-balance...

Palm Treo Pro Smart Phone

Palm's latest Treo is a sleek and well-connected Windows Mobile Treo, but it's pricey because it lacks carrier support.

Skinny Treo delivers 3G, Wi-Fi and GPS ; Includes applet to close running apps

Gets warm in the hand rather quickly ; No carrier subsidy, so its rather pricey

The Treo Pro has plenty of pluses: Svelte good looks, bundled GPS software, a standard earphone jack, and easy Windows Mobile app shutdown. But the Treo Pro's heat issue worries me--and its high unlocked price tag could turn off anyone whose corporate...

Palm Treo Pro

The Treo Pro doesn't signify a revolution, but it certainly reaffirms Palm as a genuine force in the enterprise smartphone space.

Svelte for a touch-screen handset. Several thoughtful design touches. Sharp screen resolution. Supports Wi-Fi, HSDPA 3.6, and GPS with turn-by-turn directions.

Some performance hiccups. Cramped keyboard.

Since the Treo Pro runs Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional, it hooks into Microsoft Exchange servers for direct push e-mail. It also works with up to eight POP, IMAP, or Web-based e-mail accounts. There's a full copy of Microsoft Office Mobile for...

Review: Palm Treo Pro

Until Palm unleashes the JesusTreo (rumored to descend in 2009), this reworked, dolled-up device is as good as it gets for the once-mighty smartphone company....

Trim, light and pocketable. Shortcuts prove beyond useful. Decent 2-MP pics. MicroUSB! Battery lasts almost two full days. 3.5-mm headphone jack. PPT/Excel/Word and PDF-reading, of course. Google Maps AND TeleNav GPS, which offers turn-by-turn...

Menu scrolling is about as fluid as a piece of dolomite. Slippery “obsidian” plastic casing retains more fingerprints than the NSA. Noticeable screen glare. Curved design comprised by bottomside USB/headphone jack that should be recessed more....

Palm Treo Pro 850

The Palm Treo Pro 850 is one of the latest Palm smartphones to sport the Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional OS and it all comes in a similar form factor to that of the Palm Centro. Perhaps the nicest aspect of this phone is that it is a connectivity dream...

Palm Treo Pro Review

As smartphones begin to penetrate the consumer market Palm, the manufacturer who brought them to the mainstream, has been fighting to stay relevant. Bigger names like RIM, HTC and more recently Apple have dominated the market. The tried and true Treo...

Palm Treo Pro

Those looking for a full-featured Windows Mobile smartphone should consider the Treo Pro. It may not have the snazzy interface designs of the competition, but this means it performs better in most areas.

Excellent performance, Sleek, iPhone-esque design, Superior coverage for regional areas, HSDPA, Wi-Fi and GPS

Tiny QWERTY keypad, Average battery life, More expensive than comparable phones, Needs better navigation software

Quick Take: Palm Treo Pro

While the Palm Pre gets all the press these days, Palm makes a wonderful Windows Mobile 6.1-based smart phone too...

While the Palm Treo Pro isn't going to give the iPhone or Palm Pre any serious competition in the new market for consumer-oriented smart phones, it's a serious business tool and has certainly gone a long way towards redeeming Windows Mobile in my eyes....

Gadgetell Review: Palm Treo Pro from Sprint

Despite my operational complaints due to it being so small, I really liked this phone because it was so small. It just slips so easily in your pocket and there you are with your email, the internet, a nav system and a TV set (Sprint TV) and, oh yes, a...
