Samsung Fascinate review

By now you've probably seen the reviews of the other Galaxy S phones -- the Epic 4G, Captivate, or Vibrant -- or at least gotten an idea of what Samsung's push into the Android market is all about in 2010. After hitting every other major US carrier...

Display looks great ; 4-inch size is a sweet spot ; Camera is extremely capable

TouchWiz skin is superfluous ; Phone is prone to freezes ; Bing is default search engine, can't be changed

Samsung Fascinate

At last, a Samsung Galaxy S Android phone, the Fascinate, has come to Verizon ($200 with a two-year contract from Verizon; price as of September 8, 2010). Like the other phones in the Galaxy S series (the Epic 4G, Captivate, and Vibrant), the Fascinate...

Intuitive user interface ; Gorgeous Super AMOLED display

GPS isn't always accurate ; Search is restricted to Bing

With its user-friendly interface and elegant design, the Samsung Fascinate is a strong addition to Verizon's growing portfolio of Android superphones.

Samsung Fascinate (Verizon Wireless)

The latest Samsung smartphone is another great choice for Verizon Wireless customers.

Beautiful screen. Slim and light. Fast processor. Loud speakerphone.

Inaccurate voice dialing. Poor microphone noise cancellation.

Multimedia and Conclusions The Fascinate comes with a roomy 1.4GB of onboard free storage and a 16GB MicroSD card, which fits in a slot under the back cover. Video and audio playback are plain terrific. You can use wired headphones plugged into the...

Samsung Fascinate review

Editors' note: Portions of the User interface and Features sections were taken from our reviews of the other Samsung Galaxy S models , since the devices share a common UI and similar core features. This review has also been updated with information...

The Samsung Fascinate offers a gorgeous Super AMOLED touch screen, a 1GHz processor, and a great multimedia experience. The smartphone can be used as a mobile hot spot.

GPS positioning isn't always accurate. For now, you can't save apps to an SD card or voice dial over Bluetooth. Search is locked to Bing.

Sleek and powerful, the Samsung Fascinate is another strong addition to Verizon's Android lineup. Its user interface won't appeal to everyone, particularly seasoned Android users, but it's a good smartphone for the masses.

Samsung Fascinate Review: Verizon's Galaxy S Smartphone

The Fascinate feels unlike almost any other high-end Android device I've had the chance to review so far. Where other smartphones are predominantly metal and thus pack some considerable heft, the Fascinate is lightweight and just a tad plasticky. It's...

Samsung Fascinate Review

The saga is now complete, as Samsung's fourth Galaxy S phone has been released to the US market; the Fascinate i500 for Verizon Wireless. The Fascinate follows in the footsteps of the Captivate (AT&T), Vibrant (T-Mobile), and Epic 4G (Sprint), as all...

The Samsung Fascinate 3G+ is Samsung's first smartphone in their Galaxy S family that was released for the carrier Telus. While the phone shares some similarities with the Fascinate running on Verizon in the US, the hardware itself is fundamentally...
