Samsung Focus 2 review

Ready for Samsung's latest entrant to the Windows Phone game? Hopefully you answered "yes," because we're about to take you through an in-depth look at

Solid build quality, if a bit plasticky ; Grade A battery life ; Fantastic audio quality

PenTile display ; 6.51 usable GB of non-exapandable storage ; Middling speeds over LTE ; Underwhelming camera performance

The Focus 2 is a solid little handset, but the Lumia 900 offers more bang for your buck if you can manage the extra $50.

Samsung Focus 2 review: Taking it easy

The Samsung I667 Focus 2 for AT&T is the third LTE addition to the carrier's impressive Windows Phone lineup. However, in order to avoid clashing with the platform heavyweights - the Nokia Lumia 900 and the HTC Titan II - the Korean offering...

Quad-band GSM/GPRS/EDGE support ; Tri-band 3G with HSDPA 21 Mbps and HSUPA 5.76Mbps ; Cat 3 LTE connectivity ; Windows Phone 7.5 Mango OS ; 1.4GHzQualcomm MSM8255Snapdragon CPU, Adreno 205 GPU, 512MB of RAM ; 4" 16M-color Super AMOLED display with WVGA...

Non-expandable storage ; No mass storage mode; Zune-only file management and sync ; No Bluetooth file transfers ; No Flash (nor Silverlight) support in the browser ; No DivX/XviD video support (automatic transcoding provided by Zune software)

Entry into the smartphone world can hardly get any easier than what you'll experience with the Samsung Focus 2. The smartphone offers a nicely looking, no frills, pocket friendly, and well built hardware package, bundled with a software platform which...

Review: Samsung Focus 2

The Samsung Focus 2 is a new Windows Phone for AT&T that has two key things going for it: slick looks and a low $50...

Very affordable. Slick and compact design. Good call quality. Camera is not bad for a phone

Display doesn’t get bright enough. Only 8GB of storage without the option to expand. Comes only in white

Samsung Focus 2 (AT&T)

The Samsung Focus 2 is a cross between the existing higher-end Focus S and lower-end Focus Flash; it's an okay phone, but one that's tough to get excited about.

Pleasing mix of features and performance. Windows Phone OS is fun to use. Loud speakerphone.

Voice quality isn't the greatest. Doesn't stand out from other Windows Phones in any way.

Camera and Conclusions The 5-megapixel camera offers 720p audio recording, and includes an LED flash. There's also a front-facing VGA camera for video chats. Test photos looked fine for this class of camera. Outdoor test shots were colorful, but the...

Samsung Focus 2 - pure white (AT&T) review

Samsung and AT&T must have a good thing going with their array of Windows Phone devices, because here comes the fourth in line, the Samsung Focus 2. Two things make this handset, running Windows Phone 7.5, stand out. First, its 4G LTE connectivity...

AT&T's Samsung Focus 2 has an attractive design, a nice screen, a solid 5-megapixel camera, and 4G LTE speeds.

Memory and battery life are in shorter supply on the Samsung Focus 2, and the glossy body likes to play slip-and-slide.

A generously low $50 price tag pumps up the value on the Windows Phone Samsung Focus 2, which has a satisfying range of features and support for LTE speeds.

Samsung Focus 2 Review

The Samsung Focus 2 is set for arrival, bringing the Korean based company up to snuff, but more importantly, it's aiming to stiff arm the competition with its tantalizing $49.99 on-contract price. Will its tempting price point be enough to sway...

Affordable $50 on-contract price ; Adorable design ; LTE enabled

Shoots terrible photos ; Poor calling quality

We have to say, at $49.99 with a 2-year contract, the Samsung Focus 2 isn’t that bad of a smartphone – even more when this is a brand spanking new device we’re talking about! Strengthening its value, we love that it sports an adorable design, equipped...

Samsung Focus 2 Written Review by Sydney

Windows Phone 8's official release may be just a few months away, but until then there are still Windows Phone 7.5 devices that are worth looking into. If you don't feel like waiting until this fall or need a new phone now, then AT&T has a couple of...

Super AMOLED display; LTE; inexpensive; great performance; attractive hardware

Poor camera performance; won't be updated to Windows Phone 8; non-expandable memory

It's not the best Windows Phone device out there but it will keep you happy. That being said, it's a risk to buy a new Windows Phone device now since it won't be updated to the newest version of the OS, coming this fall. Weigh your options before...

Samsung Focus 2 Review

After having announced the (then-named) Windows Phone 7 Series platform at Mobile World Congress 2010, Microsoft planned a flashy New York City event in the fall of that same year to show off the first devices that would be bestowed …

Inexpensive ; Snappy performance ; LTE-capable ; Good battery life

Display is pentile; has poor viewing angles ; Device is slippery in-hand ; Only 6GB of user-accessible storage ; Camera performance is below-average

The Focus 2 is a nicely-priced Windows Phone 7.5 device that provides a fast and fluid experience and future-proof internet connectivity. The most discerning of smartphone buyers will want to consider the Lumia 900 or Titan II , which, while more...

Review: Samsung Focus 2 for AT&T

The Samsung Focus 2 aims for the middle of the smartphone market and hits the target with ease. This smaller Windows Phone device boasts 4G LTE, a 5-megapixel camera, and solid performance. Is anything holding it back?
