Samsung Galaxy Stratosphere II (Verizon Wireless)

The affordable Samsung Galaxy Stratosphere II is perfectly fine and will likely please keyboard lovers on Verizon, but it could have been a slam dunk.

Comfortable, roomy hardware keyboard. Excellent call quality.

Midrange specs. Average display. Stiff keyboard sliding mechanism. Lots of bloatware.

Multimedia and Conclusions You get 4.45GB of free internal storage. There's also an empty, poorly placed microSD card slot underneath the battery cover. It's located directly on top of the SIM card slot, so that the two cards rest on top of each other....

Samsung Galaxy Stratosphere II (Verizon) review

While the midtier Samsung Galaxy Stratosphere II doesn't have the chops to be a high-end flagship phone, its reliable performance and graciously spaced keyboard do make this 4G LTE device stellar (forgive me, but I had to).

The Samsung Galaxy Stratosphere II has a comfortable five-row keyboard, NFC, a decent 5-megapixel camera, and 4G LTE.

The Stratosphere II's slick coating makes opening the keyboard tricky, the display has a subtle blue tint, and some tasks took a noticeable amount of time to execute.

Although it isn't banging on all cylinders when it comes to top-tier specs, the Samsung Galaxy Stratosphere II's reliable performance makes it the QWERTY keyboard phone to buy on Verizon.

Samsung Galaxy Stratosphere II Review

In a world where large-screen smartphones dominate the scene, it's nice to see there is still a selection of moderately sized devices that feature a physical QWERTY keyboard. As one would have it, the new Samsung Galaxy Stratosphere II takes the reins...

Compact to hold and carry around ; Easy to use QWERTY keyboard ; Has “Galaxy S III” type software features and user interface

Keyboard doesn’t open smoothly ; Some text looks jagged and pixelated ; Rattling in the earpiece speaker

Overall, we’re content with the Samsung Galaxy Stratosphere II. Not only is it more fashionable than the original model, but is quite faster with the dual-core 1.2GHz Snapdragon S4 processor. The full QWERTY keyboard is one of its main features, and we...

Best Keyboard Phone

I used to use the slow as dirt Stratosphere 2. Those phones break very easily. I bought a used 2, and it is great! I wish it where a bit faster, but other than that it's great. As for battery life: I text all day, email a lot, surf as needed, and...

Great QWERTY keyboard, decent battery life, a lot of improvements since the first stratosphere

Sluggish at times. Some of the default settings (like how the shift button works) are just not thought out.

Strong Multiple Features Make this a Very Good Buy

I've had the Stratosphere II for a number of days and have spent quite a bit of time getting to know my new phone. Overall I think this is a good phone with many good features, with some that are even excellent. In my opinion it is its overall solid...

Very fast set up Good solid physical slider keyboard Excellent processing speed, very fast network Good to very good but not excellent screen Camera, it's okay to good

Batter life needs to be better Took a little while to learn some of functions Voicemail volume

"FALSE ADS/CLAIMS by SAMSUNG HECK ALL CELLPHONE Mfgs."

They claim 144 hours of stand by time, this is an out and out LIE. I charged it to full unplugged it for a minute and plugged it in to top it off and soon as soon as the lightning bold disappeared I went through and killed all apps and turned the...

Small battery fits in the phone, Actual QWERTY Keyboard

Small battery does not, I say again, does not. last claimed times

"Not too big, not too small, just right"

This is definitely the phone to have if someone is more comfortable with a QWERTY. The screen size is just right. Since I wear my cell phone on my belt, I can't imagine having one much bigger than this. Facial recognition is a nice feature for...

I got it mainly because of the QWERTY, but there is enough space between the touch screen keys that I almost don't even need it. Setting data usage alerts is helpful, as is the auto interface with my home wi-fi to limit data usage.

Occasionally deactivates Navigation app if you switch from vertical to horizontal view after you've input an address but before it has loaded.

Total piece of junk

This just seems like a cheesy, entry-level phone... Which I guess it is if it's free with your renewal, but with the prices we're paying, shouldn't we get a decent phone? We have been with Verizon for like 8 years and paying ridiculous prices the...

big screen, attractive, fast on the internet etc.

screen text keys too narrow, constantly hitting the other keys to the side. Slide-out keys too short, you're constantly doing typos with the keys above and below intended key. Can't get on the wireless @ work. Ringtones and notifications ALL suck.
