Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge+ review: Samsung sharpens its leading edge

Bigger screen? Check. Better use of the curved sides? Check. This supersize Android phone gives S6 Edge lovers more room to roam.

Samsung's Galaxy S6 Edge+ has a compelling design, top-tier specs and excellent battery life. Its second menu for the curved display adds some useful shortcuts.

One of the most expensive handsets on the market, the Edge+'s usefulness doesn't live up to its sky-high price. Fans of removable batteries and microSD card slots will be disappointed that this has neither.

Buy the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge+ if you love the idea of a wraparound screen; otherwise, you'll be able to find less expensive phones that do nearly as much.

Samsung Galaxy S6 edge+ Review

The Galaxy S6 edge+ is an enlarged version of its smaller cousin Galaxy S6 edge and uses the same hardware in the camera department. A 1/2.6-inch 16MP CMOS sensor is combined with a fast F1.9 aperture and an optical image stabilization system. In video...

Samsung Galaxy S6 edge+ (AT&T)

The Samsung Galaxy S6 edge+ on AT&T is a big, beautiful, powerful smartphone, with a sky-high price that's tough to justify.

Fast performance. Premium materials. Excellent cameras.

Extremely expensive. Edge functionality is limited.

Comparisons and Conclusions This phone costs $814. That's a lot of money. As the AT&T edge+ doesn't have better battery life than the AT&T Galaxy Note 5, you really are paying $75 for curved glass here, and I don't think that's the best deal. The...

Review: Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge+

Phablets are dead. Long live huge phones.

You can't beat these displays, or these cameras. Samsung's learned how to make beautiful hardware. Big phones are best phones.

Bloatware is still hanging around. These things are fingerprint magnets. Beauty don't come cheap.

Samsung Galaxy S6 edge+ (Verizon Wireless)

The Samsung Galaxy S6 edge+ on Verizon is a big, beautiful, powerful smartphone, with a sky-high price that's tough to justify.

Fast performance. Premium materials. Excellent cameras.

Expensive. Lacks Samsung Pay. Edge functionality is limited.

Comparisons and Conclusions Samsung is trying to sell you some curved glass here for $72. Verizon's most expensive phablet is actually less capable and slightly less appealing than its pen-enabled Note 5 sibling, even though it offers a bit more...

Galaxy S6 Edge+ review: Samsung’s great, big, unnecessary phone

It's fast and nice to look at, but the Edge+ is one splurge you'll really have to consider.

I’m starting to sound like a broken record here, but like its siblings, the Edge+ features a rear-facing 16-megapixel camera and a front-facing 5-megapixel one. It’s the same fantastic camera sensor that’s in the Galaxy S6, S6 Edge, and Note 5, and...

Samsung Galaxy S6 edge+

The Samsung Galaxy S6 edge+ is the best-looking phablet around, but the Galaxy Note 5 is much more functional.

Gorgeous. Great battery life. Excellent camera.

Battery is not removable. No card slot for expansion. Edge functionality is limited.

Comparisons and Conclusions The Galaxy S6 edge+ trades functionality — and possibly durability — for beauty. It's definitely striking: Especially in gold, with its dual-curved screen, the edge+ is the most elegant phablet on the market. The materials...

Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge+ review

The 5.7-inch Samsung Galaxy Edge+ isn't just a larger version of the 5.1-inch Galaxy S6 Edge, but it's close. It has basically the same hardware guts as the Samsung Galaxy Note 5 including a strong 16-megapixel camera, 4GB of RAM and an octa-core...
