Sony Ericsson Mix Walkman review: Music to go

This Walkman is still learning to walk. But it sure knows how to mix. One part spicy, one part sweet, sprinkled with sexy and fun. Just don't expect it to mix business with pleasure.

Quad-band GSM/GPRS/EDGE support ; Touch-friendly four corner UI with Walkman player ; Stereo speakers ; 3.0" capacitive touchscreen of WQVGA resolution ; 3.15 megapixel fixed-focus camera with QVGA video recording ; Wi-Fi b/g ; Stereo FM radio with RDS...

No 3G ; Low-res display ; No on-screen QWERTY keyboard ; No equalizers or repeat function for the music player ; Disappointing camera ; No file browser ; No smart dial ; No multi-tasking ; microSD card slot under the battery

Sony Ericsson W810i Walkman

The cute, powerful Sony Ericsson W810i Walkman has no cutting-edge features, but it does many things well.

Excellent sound quality. 2-megapixel camera. Small and light.

Doesn't play DRM'ed files. No speaker-independent voice recognition. No 3G.

our w810i came loaded with games and applications, including a photo-editing app, a tetris-like game, and an rss reader. cingular will probably clear those apps out when it starts selling the phone. the games you end up buying will play smoothly, as...

Sony Ericsson W600i Walkman

The Sony Ericsson W600i Walkman is a fun phone, especially if you like gaming or listening to podcasts.

Dedicated gaming buttons. Great battery life. Good music headphones.

Slippery keypad. So-so call quality. Memory not expandable.

The Bluetooth implementation is unusually good, supporting not only headsets and file transfers, but also the use of the W600i as a remote control for your PC. We'd really like to start seeing stereo Bluetooth audio, though, especially in phones...

Sony Ericsson W800i Walkman

Both cute and powerful, it's the best regular phone out there—though not what we'd expect from something with the Walkman branding.

Excellent sound quality. Two-megapixel camera. Small and light. Tons of features.

Doesn't play WMA or DRM files. No support for music playlists created on PCs. No speaker-independent voice recognition.

You can't leave out the camera these days, though. Flip a switch, and you're taking 2-megapixel photos. The camera has a real, mechanical autofocus, too, as well as an extra-bright LED flashlight. Pictures taken with the W800i weren't quite as bright...

Sony Ericsson Mix Walkman Review

Good-looking display, Relatively cheap for its features, Wi-Fi support

Touchscreen is tricky to use, Lack of a microSD card in the set

Overall, the Sony Ericsson Mix Walkman has more than a few drawbacks, but its low price makes up for most of them. Currently, the phone can be found for about $120 off contract, which makes it a bargain considering the features that it packs. We were...

Review: Sony Ericsson W810i Walkman Phone

The W810i is a candy bar-style phone measuring only 3.9 x 1.8 x 0.8 inches and weighing in at 3.5 ounces. We love its sleek black styling and its generous cool factor; it feel like a phone for night-clubbers who know the best undiscovered places

A press representative told us that the phone would likely be offered by a major US GSM network this fall, and would probably sell for between $149 and $199 with a service commitment. If you can wait, that would be a great deal on a music-playing phone...

Sony Ericsson W600i Walkman phone - Phone Reviews by Mobile Tech Review

Sony Ericsson's Walkman W600i phone seamlessly merges two of the most often carried devices into one stylish pocket sized unit. The Walkman portion features 256 MB of memory for music, pictures, and videos. The W600i has an FM radio tuner when used...

All in one MP3/radio/phone. World capable GSM with EDGE for data. Sharp and fast display is great for games. Bluetooth for headsets and syncing. More compact than the Sony Ericsson S710a it replaces in the Cingular lineup and it has a higher capacity...

A little pudgy, swivel on wrong side, documentation lacking, no expansion slot and only 256 megs of memory mean that the phone holds less than 100 songs

The Sony Ericsson W600i Walkman is a relatively new kind of convergence device that brings together a high quality MP3 player with FM radio and a mobile phone. Sure, a lot of phones can play MP3’s these days, but the W600i offers decent capacity to...
