Sony Ericsson W200i

Everything you need for a full Walkman experience: included in the phone box you'll find software for copying music CD-to-phone, a 128MB memory card and a stereo handsfree. Just keep your Walkman player or FM Radio tuned in and turned on.

Good for basic telephony and messaging; lightweight and comfortable to wield; decent battery life

No Bluetooth; poor screen and built-in camera; bundled storage space quite low

It works, no doubts about that, and what it can do, it does quite well.

Sony Ericsson W200i

Even as mobile phones converge and take on the functionality of an increasing manifest of devices, there is still a need for the basics and Sony Erics...

Walkman application, good sound quality, above average headphones, included 128MB M2 Memory Stick, push email

No Bluetooth, Walkman software not the latest 2.0 version, low specification display, uncomfortable navigational stick, VGA camera

The W200i is a solid budget mobile phone, but the lack of Bluetooth may be enough for some to give it a miss.

Sony Ericsson W200i

The W200i is an entry level music phone with the famous Walkman branding, but in its case you're paying a lot for a logo -- even if it is an entry-level phone.

Good quality stereo headphones. Phone itself works well. Good battery life.

Proprietary socket for all connections. Woeful VGA camera. Disc2Phone software requires activation. PC Suite lacks Vista support.

Sony Ericsson W200i review

The W200i is the cheapest phone in Sony Ericsson's Walkman range. It's a tiny handset in a vivid shade of pink, but it's also available in black for the same price.

The W200i is an entry level music phone with the famous Walkman branding, but in its case you're paying a lot for a logo -- even if it is an entry-level phone.

Good quality stereo headphones ; Phone itself works well ; Good battery life

Proprietary socket for all connections ; Woeful VGA camera ; Disc2Phone software requires activation ; PC Suite lacks Vista support

Certainly, many consumers who end up with a W200i will do so on a plan, and as such pay very little for the phone itself. Within that model, it's a capable enough basic phone with music an added extra. If you're looking at it with an eye to buying it...

A Budget Walkman Phone : Sony Ericsson W200i budget mobile

Not everybody wants or needs all the functionality and style of a high-priced mobile phone. The Sony Ericsson W200i model is aimed at such users.

Described by Steve Walker (Head of Product Marketing at Sony Ericsson) as "an affordable music phone that compliments your existing MP3 player", the W200i phone is a candy bar unit aimed at the budget-conscious area of the marketplace.

Sony Ericsson W200i

The budget phone domain will definitely be in chaos upon the release of this tiny and well stacked phone. Sony Ericsson is not known for releasing any phone that comes within this range. Suffice to say, the company should do extremely well with the...

sony ericsson w200i

For £30, the Sony Ericsson W200i is a real bargain. Camera is of course naff. You get a tiny screen, no 3G, but the W200i does all the basics well enough and you get an entry-level Walkman player. Smokin'. Carphone Warehouse loves you.

Good value

Small screen, No bluetooth, No 3G
