T-Mobile G2 review

It's been a long road to the T-Mobile G2 (and this review). Just two years ago, Android made its entrance into the smartphone market with the G1, a partnership with the fourth-place carrier, and a lot of promises about keeping things open. Since then...

Great industrial design ; Full QWERTY keyboard feels great ; Very fast

Android not completely stock ; Hinge problems could annoy some ; A bit bulky

T-Mobile G2 review

With all the Android devices that have come out in the past year, it's surprising that the T-Mobile G1 , the first Android phone to ever hit the market, is just now getting a successor. After all, it's been two years since the G1 debuted, which is an...

The T-Mobile G2 boasts a premium design and easy-to-use QWERTY keyboard. It's the first smartphone to support T-Mobile's HSPA+ network, and offers speedy performance and good call quality. It ships running Android 2.2 with the stock Android interface.

The G2 doesn't offer tethering or mobile hot spot capabilities. We have some concerns about the slider hinge.

Some minor issues aside, the T-Mobile G2 is one of the carrier's top Android smartphones, offering an excellent QWERTY keyboard, speed, and plenty of features.

T-Mobile G2

The screen slides with a powerful, guillotine-like snap to reveal a sweet four-row QWERTY keyboard, with a large space bar. The most intriguing thing about this keyboard is three user-customizable quick keys which can be set to launch any app. You'll...

Beautiful hardware. Feels fast. Terrific voice phone. Google Voice is tightly integrated

Some bugs. Undeletable Google bloatware. No tethering

The follow-up to the very first Google phone, the T-Mobile G2 is a powerful smartphone with a great keyboard and a hefty portion of pre-loaded Google services.

T-Mobile's G2 is a worthy Android heir

Android phone sports fantastic keyboard, mostly good features

Roomy QWERTY keyboard, fast, easy-to-navigate menus, clear call quality

Slider hinge doesn't lock in place, poor speakerphone quality, lacks tethering, no mobile hotspot capability

T-Mobile G2 Review

Welcome to the Android Community review of the fabled T-Mobile G2. Truly a lovely little piece of work with a Snapdragon MSM7230 processor, Android 2.2 Froyo, 4G speeds, and what I'll tell you right now is a very nice still camera situation. Before you...

This is the phone I reach for now. I’ve got several phone lying around, all of them connected to the internet and capable of calling and texting (most of them here because I’ve reviewed or are about to review them,) and this is the one I constantly put...

T-Mobile G2 Review Roundup: Vanilla Android Is The Way To Go

and I'll say it again: stock Android is the way to go. I hate it when manufacturers add custom UIs, bloatware, and unnecessary lag to our beloved Android operating system, so, naturally, I was overjoyed to hear that the T-Mobile G2 would ship with a...

Fast browsing speeds, sharp and bright screen, great build quality, comfy keyboard, runs Android 2.2 Froyo with every Google App you could ever want, great performance, sophisticated looks

Mediocre camera, call volume needs to be louder, a tad on the heavy side

Review: T-Mobile G2

Like the Nexus One, the G2 is a unified Google experience, and it excels because of that. The vaunted HSPA+ is fast as hell and there is very little to criticize from start to finish. That said, it's also a brick and the form factor isn't for everyone....
