Consumer review (coffeegeek.com)

The Krups Moka Brew coffee maker does what it says it will do, but I wish I had bought a Technivorm.

Other reviewers have commented how complicated it is just to make coffee, but I found that within a week I was able to use the machine without difficulty. Cleaning all the parts IS more complicated than a drip machine. Getting the used filter out is...

Great looking ; Coffee temperature is hot

Took a week to get comfortable with the set up ; Cleaning more involved

A well executed, attractive, complex brewer that consistently makes excellent coffee.

My first impressions of the Krups Moka Brew were that it was unusual looking, that the fit and finish of the unit was excellent and that it was attractive as it sat in the kitchen next to the coffee grinder. It is a good ‘conversation piece' when...

Well designed ; Well built, fit and finish good ; Small footprint ; Consistently good coffee ; No issues with 'bloom' interfering with the process ; It always brews at the same temperature

The assembly is complicated ; If one of the three seals is not carefully aligned, it won't work ; Replacement filter-papers from Krups are too expensive

This machine makes the best coffee my sons have ever had (me too).

I started shopping for the Krups Moka Brew almost immediately after reading Mark Prince's

The Krups Moka Brew makes the best coffee that I have ever personally brewed. The coffee is rich and full-bodied. It reminds me of the excellent coffee that I had when I visited Belgium

It's somewhat fussy to set up. It's pretty easy to spill water when filling the reservoir and requires careful attention to grind. It takes a long time to brew a full pot, which is only about 36 ounces. This makes it a poor choice to use when...

I wish I could get a new one!

This machine is no longer being manufactured by Krups, and they do not have another machine like it at all. This pot made a great cup of coffee, we even got a little crema on the top every time it brewed. I need to find a another coffee maker similar...

Made a fantastic cup of coffee

Coffee did not stay too hot for long in the carafe, but no worries if you drank it all right away

Simple reliable coffee maker that makes a strong brew.

After reading many reviews of this product, I decided to try it out as my everyday morning coffee maker. The price was much less than a Technivorm, so I thought it was a worthy gamble given its positive reviews. I bought mine from an eBay seller, and...

Brews at appropriate temperature ; Unique water delivery system that creates a full-flavored brew ; Simple aesthetically-pleasing design ; Easy to descale and clean

Replacement filters hard to find (can use cloth) ; Takes a bit of tweaking to find the right grind/dose combination ; You'll want a carafe to go with it

If they ever make a simpler machine that brews coffe perfectly, and it's free - - - I'll never know, becuse I'll be too busy using my Krups Moka :)

I've owned this brewer for 2 1/2 years and it's made me fantastically great cups of coffee every single time I fired the darn thing up. I've experimented with the grinds, and overall mostly appreciate the smaller grind. It brews enough for 4 perfect...

Brews coffee in a manner I completely satisfies with

Most negative points of this product are in my opinion - a bit overhyped. To clean the basket, a couple of taps against the inside garbage pail - the junk falls out then I clean the basket, no big deal. Coffee filters - - - I buy normal cheap coffee...

You will always get a great cup of coffee fom this classy and stylish machine. It's a bit quirky to operate, but the reward is a rich, satisfying bre

Background:

Stylish, modern and elegant ; Simple and ingenious design ; Most importanly, it really brews a great cup of coffee

This product has been discontinued - however it is still available from several sources online. As of this writing, Krups still provdes replacement parts on their website ; It is not as user-friendly as most drip coffeemakers; emptying coffee grounds...

I like it so much I might buy a spare as production will soon cease in Europe.

still avalable with various French internet suppliers, but now made in Portugal and sold here only in black. However, on Ebay Germany it is sold in white too. In both countries it is rather expensive compared to the USA prices, but it is worth the...

solid machine, great form and looks terrific in kitchen. real conversation piece and quite rare here

As others have so well reviewed and stated it is a shame there is no automatic turn-off swith. Krups could also be more generous with their 3 sample filter papers. I too made my own without any problem ; Cleaning out is messy

Steam Rules!

Update (7/09): After two years of use I'm still very pleased with the Krups T8, or to use its rather clumsy North American moniker, the "Moka Brew". Still made in France (could this be Krups' last Euro-made coffeemaker??), the T8 is a well-built...

Brews delicious coffee in an alternative style (café allongé) ; Well-made of durable components ; Simple and reliable, with a design history that dates to 1961

Not for the 'coffee-in-under-three-minutes' crowd ; Power switch easy to bump 'on' accidentally ; Must take care in fitting the carafe/lid assembly into the coffeemaker before locking in place

A great cup of coffee and not as difficult as expected.

Let me premise this first by stating that I disliked the rating system here because none of the ratings ask specifically about the TASTE of the coffee, which is what drives me. Quality, Usability, Cost v. Value, Aesthetics, are fine, but there is no...

Makes a really good cup of coffee. Not as difficult as I believed after reading other reviews

Awkward getting water into it. Only makes 8 cups
