A very good buy for beginners. Easy, strong and a good cappuccino, espresso, worth the money under $300

Owned for 10+ yrs and it got destroyed by a lightning strike to the house. It worked for at least 4 -8 cups a day all this time with one hiccup (a gasket went after 5yrs). Simplistic, easy to use and clean. Would buy it again but am looking for...

I had this simple trustworthy sturdy workhorse Hot coffee in less then 2 minutes after switching on and nice frothy creamy top again and again

A little noisy in the morning. Not the greatest looking out there

4,000 + shots and the machine has not failed. I can make a consistantly good shot, and that's what I wanted when I bought it.

I purchased this machine more than five years and make between two and three shots every morning, which works out to more than 4,000 shots. The machine has never failed. When I purchased this machine I was moving from a Krups steam machine, I was so...

The machine works every morning, it heats fast and pours a good tasting/looking shot. The reservoir is of sufficient size, the spill tray is removable and easy to clean

I hate the color of this machine, it's grey plastic with sparkles in it! The logo is in gold, truly tacky. A metal case would be great, but I would be happy with solid colored plastic. The reservoir has a corner in it which is nearly impossible to...

Great manual machine for beginners (kind of like the Honda Civic of cars)

This is my first machine. I bought it based on having used the old Giannini Spidem at the family cottage for the past three years (I think Saeco bought the model, as they are virtually the same). I am the only espresso drinker on the house, so it suits...

very easy to use; consistent espresso shots (I have used several different kinds of beans); warmer holds 9 cups & works great (I cover with a tea towel to trap the heat); big water reserve (~ 1.5 L)

would like to see less plastic in the construction

Solid Stepping Ladder in Espresso Addiction

I'm a noob, and I find this to be a basically good espresso machine for the marketed price, and a great deal at us$60 used.

Good coffee, reliable, durable, easy to use

Leaks water from steaming spout when brewing ; Leaks water from grouphead when steaming

Superior to Krups and the like but not up to machine for the expert

I have some experience with espresso machines having owned some of the first espresso/cappuccino carts in New York City back in the early 1990's. This is my first venture into the home machine market and I was more than a little curious at what level a...

This machine is a good value if you pay $150 or less and it enables you to make a good cappuccino without alot of experience. The pressurized filter is easy to use

Producing a "dry" espresso pod and/or a "dry" foam for a stiff cappuccino is an impossibility with this machine

Reasonable entry level machine for the price.

I believe that this machine provides reasonable value for money. It cannot compare to higher end machines (Silvia etc), but with some small modifications it can produce reasonable coffee. After a month of frustration, I decided to disasseble the...

The best points about this machine is its relative ease of use and the short time that the boiler takes to warm up

The worst point about this machine is that it includes a pressurized portafiller. This feature inhibits the ability of the machine to produce a good quality espresso

Great model - would purchase second hand

We bought this unit second hand for a very good price. When it arrived it didnt work although it had been serviced by a professional outlet (Who no longer were in business) . Had nothing to loose so I decided to repair or destroy it myself. The manual...

Over 22,000 cups and still going...

We have had this machine for about 15 years now and it is always consistent. I have had to replace the seals along the way, but it is still going strong. It may not have the bells and whistles of some of the newer flashier machines, but at a coffee...

Awesome. Reliable. Wonderful coffee.

I have had my machine for at least 12 years and it has never skipped a beat. I had to have it repaired for the first time this year and the water pump and grinder both blew (less than $300 for both). This machine has stood the test of time and its...

Reliable and servicable

reasonably fussy drinker. If I lived in a city I'd get the grinder professionally readjusted :) PS the fancy machine I had before was difficult to get access to insides, this one is easy to open and check...
