Oregon Scientific iBall

These futuristic speakers for the iPod win retro style points and offer decent wireless audio quality, but be prepared to pay for it.

The spiffy retro Oregon Scientific iBall is a compact wireless speaker system that's easy to set up, has decent range, and delivers solid sound quality for a wireless device. The two-piece device comes with rechargeable batteries and can be used with...

The pricey Oregon Scientific iBall suffers from some background interference during playback, and its graphical interface can be difficult to decipher. The device, which is not truly portable since the transmitter needs to be plugged in, could also use...

While not perfect and a bit pricey, the Oregon Scientific iBall is a nice way to make your iPod tunes available at a party.

Oregon Scientific iBall

Better than Tom Hanks' pal Wilson

Great wireless range, readable LED, clock, wall bracket.

No remote control, song and artist name do not appear on LED.

S-video cable for iPod

Oregon Scientific iBall review

An original concept that works well as far as the wireless implementation goes, but flounders on the rocks of appalling sound quality (for a £200 unit

Looks great ; wireless feature works well ; good connectivity

Sounds very poor for a £200 system

The wireless feature is a neat touch, but the iBall's core function – sounding good – just isn’t there

Oregon Scientific makes the sort of gadgets you often see advertised in Sunday newspaper supplements - pedometers, digital stopwatches, that kind of thing. However, even we were intrigued when we saw its iBall, a wireless dock-and-speaker combo for the...

Oregon Scientific iBall Review

At last an iPod docking system without wires, the new iBall system from Oregon Scientific lets you dock your pod and stream to a remote speaker. Is it a quality sound from a spherical object or just balls, we find out.

Oregon Scientific iBall

Sounds great, sample it at the shop and see...

Suprisingly good sound for its size. It sounds great, even the bass. I also like the auxilary-in so you can play stuff from your tv, computer etc on the iball. Overall, the sound quality makes it worth the price.

The price. I have seen it for $200 at the Myer sale though. Also the hub seems to get hot underneath if it has been left on for a few hours, but its not a big deal. I wish they made the iball as an alarm clock too!
