VTech VT5831 review: VTech VT5831

VTech VT5831

Operates in the 5.8GHz frequency; built-in speakerphone on the base and handset; accepts up to six handsets; solid battery life.

Experienced some interference on the 2.4GHz band in our tests; small phone book; no answering machine; headset sold separately.

The 5831 falls a tad behind other 5.8GHz phones but not by much.

Sooner or Later...We all have to cut the cord

Power outages at certain times of the year are regular occurrences when living in Florida, and most of us know that it wise to keep a corded phone on hand. I never needed a cordless phone while living in the city, but ...

Quality, reliability, features, ease of use and price.

Good Features, But A Little Pricey.

The VTech 5831 is a 2 piece digital cordless telephone. It is one of the first telephones to utilize the 5.8 GHz frequency and can expand to add up to 5 optional handsets to bring the number of usable handsets to 6. This will allow you to put a handset...

This is not your cheap, entry level phone anymore!

My first experience with this phone was when Bellsouth sent one with their logo on it. When I received my first bill for it, it promptly was returned as they had told me the phone was just $30 not 6 (yes, 6) installments of $30!! Installments?!! On ...

Decent range, an impressive array of features, ease of use and oh yeh, cool styling!

Vtech had an almost perfect phone, but ruined it with a lousy battery.
