Acer Aspire M5100 (AM5100-EF9500A)

The Acer Aspire M5100 packs in more than your basic budget desktop, namely, a quad-core AMD Phenom processor.

Inexpensive PC with HDMI output. Quad-core CPU. FireWire port. Hidden media card reader. Some decent styling and design choices. Eight USB ports. Front USB ports are intelligently organized. It's at Costco.

Loaded with bloatware. Integrated graphics are not DX10 hardware compatible. Quad-core CPU is wasted with 690 chipset and 667-MHz DDR2 SDRAM.

Acer Aspire M5100 review: Acer Aspire M5100

Acer Aspire M5100

Quad-core CPU and extra RAM bring fast performance at a low price; decently sized hard drive.

Irritating sliding panel in front of media card reader; you can get similar core features for less in a dual-core box.

For performance-minded shoppers on a budget, the $700 quad-core Acer Aspire M5100 is fast enough to make you think about spending more than you might otherwise. If all you need is a capable PC with a decent hard drive, you can get away with a less...

Acer Aspire M5100

Looking for a powerful yet reasonably priced desktop computer to do multimedia tasks? The Acer Aspire M5100 (AM5100-EF9500A) ($699 list) will fill that bill. It's a budget-minded PC with a quad-core 2.2-GHz AMD Phenom 9500 processor, 3GB of RAM, and a...

Acer's Aspire M5100 puts quad-core Phenom power in a sub-$750 desktop. It provides a little more oomph than your basic budget desktop.

Acer Aspire AM5100 -EF9500A

Have received excellent customer service from Newegg

Absolutely delighted with this PC. Out of box perfect solution to my need for heavy Graphic. Added Visa 64 and 8G memory

Have found not any Cons as yet. Removed a considerable number of free programs that Acer included, however for many this is a very generous and interesting collection

Just returned one

I could no longer tolerate this problem so I call Acer Tech Support and explained the problem and was told I had a mother board failure and I could send it to them for repair or send back from where purchase so I sent it back to Newegg.

It would work very well when it would work, very fast, it took a little getting use to Vista but I was somewhat up to speed in about an hour, system seems to be built fairly well

I had the system only one day and the ; System would not reboot if you shut it down using the restart icon after clicking on the start icon. It would only boot to the Acer logo screen and stay there, then you would have to push the power on/off button...

With christmas coming in a couple months, anyone thinking of getting their kids or whoever a PC might want to consider this one. I'm actually thinking of getting one for the family room. With it's media capability, it would make a nice DVR setup for...

I helped a friend find a PC which it turns out was this one. I personally build my own PCs but my friend didn't want to spend that kind of money so I helped her find a store bought. I must say for the price of this Acer and what it comes with it's the...
