Apple iMac (summer 2010) review

Introduced 10 months ago, Apple's original 27-inch iMac would arguably still be competitive today because of the continued absence of a Windows all-in-one computer with a screen larger than 24 inches. After a model update a few weeks ago , Apple has...

Largest display among all-in-one desktops; best-in-class productivity and gaming performance; DisplayPort provides home entertainment flexibility; SDXC card slot supports cards up to 2TB in size.

Connecting external video devices requires an extra, expensive adapter because it lacks an HDMI port; no Blu-ray drive; runs hot.

Apple's new $1,999 iMac comes with a faster CPU and a new graphics card, helping this 27-inch all-in-one desktop stay as competitive in performance as it already was in screen size. Despite the still-frustrating absence of an HDMI port, we have no...

Apple iMac 27-inch (Core i5)

The Apple iMac 27-inch (Core i5) gives you speedy quad-core power, better 3D graphics, and the same large screen as the previous 27-inch (Core i7) for a couple hundred bucks less.

True quad-core power. Wireless keyboard/mouse. Mini DisplayPort in/out. Screen has 2,560 by 1,440 resolution. Large display. Green certifications. 802.11a/n 5GHz support

Still no Blu-ray drive. No eSATA. Card reader is SD/SDHC/SDXC only. Requires third-party adapter for HDMI or DVI

Best all-in-one desktop suitable for gaming

The new quad-core version of the Apple iMac is the fastest all-in-one desktop you can buy. It even beats some tower-based desktops in performance tests, and reviewers say it is the best choice if you want an all-in-one computer for serious...

Gorgeous high-resolution display, faster than any other all-in-one, good performance for gaming

Expensive, no Blu-ray drive, no HDMI port

Apple iMac (27-Inch, 2010 Version) Review and Ratings

Stellar design and performance keep the 27-inch iMac at the front of the all-in-one PC pack.

Stark, beautiful design ; Innovative peripherals ; Impressive performance ; Amazing LCD with best-in-class resolution

Lacks Blu-ray drive, HDMI port ; Mouse features take getting used to ; A few add-ons aren't included that should be

Apple iMac 27-inch (Core i5) Review

Digital Trends published a Apple iMac 27-inch (Core i5) Review.

The Tuffwrap is a very nice case for the iPad and is my new favorite case. You may have issue with the design of the Tuffwrap if you use the screen lock a lot, but most will find the Tuffwrap is an excellent choice for protecting the iPad.

Apple iMac (27in, mid-2010)

Apple's iMac desktop PC lacks HDMI connectivity and Blu-ray support, but internal upgrades will keep most users happy

LED-backlit display, excellent design and construction, good performance, new processors and graphics cards

No HDMI or Blu-ray, no number pad on included keyboard, glossy display can be distracting

Apple's latest iMac retains an identical design to earlier iMacs but features upgraded internal components. If you've recently purchased an iMac there isn't enough to justify an upgrade, but if you're looking to purchase your first Mac or want to...

Apple iMac 27in

It's true. Big can be beautiful.

The 27in iMac may not be flawless, but it is peerless. The few improvements that could be made don't detract from the fact that this is quite simply the best iMac, and possibly even the best Mac, Apple has ever made.

Apple iMac (27in, mid-2010)

Apple's iMac desktop PC lacks HDMI connectivity and Blu-ray support, but internal upgrades will keep most users happy

Thinner design, better screen ; Update to Ivy Bridge processors ; Fusion Drive tech compromises speed and space

As usual, pricy for an all-in-one ; Questionable upgradability
