Apple Mac Mini (Intel) review

Apple's Mac Mini Core Duo The littlest Apple received a makeover that includes more than just the widely publicized move to Intel processors. True, the Mac Mini line now features two Intel-based models: an entry-level, single-core Mac Mini Core Solo...

Inexpensive; good choice for budget shoppers or people adding a second computer; Front Row media software and new ports make it more useful as a home-theater PC; easy to connect with an entertainment system; can run Windows via Boot Camp; attractive...

Video output to televisions shows poor image processing; Apple software still catching up to Intel processors; small hard drive; remote control has limited functionality; few upgrade options.

Apple packs more media-specific features into the Mac Mini to make an inexpensive and useful entertainment-room computer. It's tremendously easy to use, although it surprised us with poor image processing.

Apple Mac mini (Intel Core Duo)

Apple is targeting first-time computer buyers, as well as anyone who is looking for an additional media PC for their house. And because the Intel Core Duo is found inside, this mini should be just as appealing to traditional Windows-based PC users as...

Airport Extreme (802.11g Wi-Fi) and Bluetooth 2.0+EDR now standard. Compact, sleek, quiet, and low-priced. Can use accessories from previous generation Mac mini. Four USB 2.0 ports and an audio input (finally). Intel Core Duo processor

No TV tuner. 512MB of RAM is good, 1GB would be better. Core Duo means some incompatibility with older software (such as "Classic" apps running OS 9.) No keyboard or mouse included ; Watch the Apple Mac Mini Video Review

The new Apple Mac mini has the Intel Core Duo processor, and adds Front Row, wireless 802.11g, and Bluetooth. It's a good fit as a media extender or a second system for living room or bedroom use.

Apple Mac mini desktop computer Review and Prices

Apple's Mac mini looks less like a home computer and more like a case to hold your CDs. Weighing in at less than three pounds and only two inches tall and 6.5 inches square, the Mac mini is the ultimate in Apple's desktop streamlining efforts.

Review - Mac mini 1.5GHz Intel Core Solo

To give this machine a fair review, I have to do so from the point of view of my mother, not me. I didn't run Photoshop, Dreamweaver and Toon Boom Studio on it. I didn't play Quake 4. Instead, I surfed the web. I checked e-mail. I played some CDs,...

In other words, the Mac mini is just fine for Galileo, but those with their eyes on the entire Macintosh universe may want a little more than...well, than what my mom's willing to accept as a retirement gift.

Review: Mac mini Core Duo Great machine, debatable value

Posted by Lab RatOkay, we've had our Mac mini core duo for a few weeks now, and we think we have gotten a pretty good picture of what people can expect from the new mini (and the new Intel Macs in general). Here we hope to answer the 2 most often asked...

It is important to keep in mind the mini's intended use when reviewing it. It is not designed to be either a hard core gaming machine nor a graphics workstation. It is a cheap (for a Mac anyway) home PC. These days a home PC is occasionally expected...

First Impressions: Intel Mac Mini

After arriving home for spring break, I was greeted by several packages that I had ordered. I opted for an Apple Intel Mac Mini with a SuperDrive and a 1.5GHz Core Solo processor. Before you start knocking on the Core Solo, I must say that this is...

For still being Apple's entry-level computer, the mini hold exceptional value even with the increased price tag. I was thoroughly impressed by the performance and am waiting for further surprises down the road as more mainstream applications become...
