Setup was unbelievably convenient.

I've used ASUS, MSI, Supermicro, and Gigabyte motherboards before, but this was my first ASRock build. I will be looking to them in the future. With all the features of this budget board I am very interested to see what their highend motherboards have...

- Not only did it upgrade its firmware without an OS installed it also created usb media for the LAN drivers to make the OS install a breeze. - Paired this with an AMD 860k, 8Gbs of RAM, and a GTX 760...it picked up everything the first time no fuss,...

- It seemed odd to me that it didn't have a true front panel USB 3.0 header since it already has a 3.0 controller and 2 rear USB 3.0 ports, but I still feel like I got more than I paid for.

Works great with Athlon X4 860k CPU and PCI 3.0 GFX card

First time buying an ASRock board and I'm very impressed. The board is running very stable with a PCI 3.0 gfx card and Athlon x4 860k CPU at default speed. Bios navigation is really nice and there are options for setting CPU voltage manually. I don't...

Works perfectly out of the box with my Athlon 860k 3.7ghz CPU (Kaveri) PCI 3.0 GFX card compatible and plenty of USB connectors Bios settings are descriptive and easy to work with. Sound effects in bios are stylish without being overkill. Drivers for...

No complaints really. Max 32 gig ram capacity might bother some? Honestly though, the board ram capacity is practical without being overkill. No HDMI connector might annoy those using an APU or building a media box. Does have DVI out connectors, which...

Awesome

for the user with "issues" processor chooses memory clock speed... mismatch these along with the board and you will have issues. nothing to do with the board, and everything to do with your parts and research. Rule of thumb, don't exceed 1600 on an FM2...

price - usb 3.0

Working good, until DIMM slot failure

I am trying to get Asrock to replace it at the moment.

- It was Cheap - everything I needed for a low-profile build - Onboard VGA/DVI pairs good with an AMD APU.

- Failed DIMM slot after 3 months (closest to CPU)

From 2 stars to 1

Pros: Mostly works. Cons: Flexible USB 2.0 header for front panel is a no go. Poor selection of drivers on Asrock website. No individual drivers for USB , just AMD all in one. No bios update file on website, update must be performed online from within...

Customer service will politely reply and the value of that response is noted.

In the Other section I posted my original review. The person signed as: ASRock Support did not address the one issue that I needed to be addressed (Flexible USB 2.0 header for front panel is a no go). He did, however, advise me to contact his...

Met expectations

The cons coincidentally didn't really affect me personally and therefore didn't dock an egg because of it, but I deem them as problems that should be easily addressed and could be annoying or misleading to others.

I got this motherboard to build a very basic home PC. I wasn't expecting anything fancy and this fulfilled my needs just fine. The BIOS/EFI is easy and to-the-point, and this supports all the features I really need it to.

* EFI runs a little slow, as though the CPU is maxed out. I would rather they drop the special effects in order for it to be more responsive. * Can't control fan speeds of non-PWM fans * USB 3.0 header is fake. Though I didn't need this and it is...

Good but memory issues

The motherboard is tiny and that can be good or bad depending on your intended use.

Price is good. Allows use of both FM2 and FM2+ processors.

Bought two of these boards for customer upgrades and both had memory issues. First one had 2x G.skill 4gb 1600 and glitched and locked up 3 or 4 time a day. Through trial and error finally put 2x 8gb Corsair Vengeance 1866 and the instability went away...
