HP Pavilion Elite HPE-210f

The HP Pavilion Elite HPE-210f desktop PC is aimed at the multimedia enthusiast with quad-core power, copious hard drive space, and Blu-ray drive.

Blu-ray player. Expandability. Quick on multimedia benchmarks. Built in Wi-Fi. HDMI. FireWire. 8GB of memory.

Graphics card is more about video quality than 3D. No eSATA. Few inputs on the front panel. Bloatware. No 5GHz Wi-Fi support (802.11a or 802.11n 5GHz).

Worth the money

For the money this MAY be the best WIN7 commercial machine available. The whole of the machine choices were designed around WIN7. The componentry was a serious cut above the standard commercial and the idiosyncratic elements of wireless / sound were...

For a standard "on-board" main-board, the choices of chip set and standards are excellent from a cost savings and quality level. Production standards were neat, tight, well thought out. Compared to gateway & dell it was a slight cut above. Workmanship...

Cosmetically, it is easily scratched, the room for large hands in the cabinet is not that great, it's weight is not applied toward the base (not an easily tipped over case but the weight should be lower) ; Not a well designed case for multiple internal...

Not too bad

I called HP support and determined it was a mother board problem. There were delays and it took a month, but HP took care of me and I got a new computer.

This machine has a lot of features for the price, and it worked great for a few hours and then

Crash, crash, crash, crash crash

Mine Broke

This computer is blazing fast, and handles everything I have tried to throw at it, and asks for more ; Graphics were stellar for everything that I was using it for ; I am not a sound quality freak but, it sounded perfect to me ; When it was working,...

The hard drive has failed on me twice now, the second time it is totally broken, there is nothing that I can do to bring it back to life ; So now I have to buy another hard drive because I failed to buy the extended warranty at BB

A great value for a low-mid tech consumer.

I am really surprised at some of the reviews of this machine, especially about it running hot. This tower runs at a cool-normal temp at all times that we have checked it, even after running some pretty draining programs and running for several hours....

Setup was a breeze, arrived very quickly, and took no time to update. Husband is not a very computer savvy person so this tower is perfect for him. Simple, easy, and can handle all of the games that he plays such as Requiem and Fallen Earth ; 1. Quad...

6 months of Norton comes with this machine. I detest Nortons as it is a virus all by itself due to its habit of sticking its grubby little fingers into EVERYTHING on your computer. I never activated it, I just uninstalled and put my own Antivirus in

A hunk of junk

I think this thing sucks.

It runs

It runs slowly. HP has crammed so much junkware onto the machine that it chugs doing things my 4 year old Athlon 2 could handel. Case is a nightmare with possibly the worst ventiliation I have ever seen, no wonder it comes with a low-end card, anything...

Good Performance, needs gaming graphics card.

This system has a great blueray drive already installed, 8gb of ram and a strong gaming processor. It also comes with the Radeon 5450 which is semi-alright for gaming. This seems like it was built for gaming, all for a very reasonable price

The graphics card isn't very good

Do not buy this computer if you intend to dual boot Linux

The system as adequate. The 5400 rpm drive is slow in random reads which is what most applications do. The Network Card (NIC) although advertised as GigE never excees speeds of 20 Mbs which is far lower than what my GigE laptop can do on the same...

I bout the refurbished version. So price to value is excellet. Small footprint. Generally sluggish response in Windows. Maybe it is just Windows

Do not buy if you want to run Linux. The BlueRay/DVD does not work with Linux. You have to use a usb thumb drive to install Linux (Ubuntu). I was also not able to configure the video driver for Linux so i don't have any desktop effects (Compiz)....

So far; so good...

I've installed Ubuntu 10.04 on this machine and it absolutely screams! After an initial problem that was solved quite easily, Ubuntu is really perfect for this machine!

Fast, fast, fast

Video card is not really for a gaming system
